  1. Tell me you did NOT just knock the paraffin buckshot trick. That was totally below the belt! <laughs>
  2. It's like every semi-auto myth ever told, all in one big beautiful story!
  3. "Remember children, it's not the fall that will kill you, it's the sudden stop at the bottom that gets you."
  4. That would suck in a real-life situation, that soccer team whose plane crashed (in the Alps I think it was), and the Donner Party come immediately to mind. I know you meant something else, but that's out of the question in this crowd:
  5. Congratulations on the sale! <thumbsup> This thread is now locked.
  6. What has your own experience with the rifle been? What's the rate of failure? I'd like to know more about your situation, but it sounds to me like someone has a vested interest in your need for a better rifle. Trust me, you can make a dead ringer out of that DPMS for a heck of a lot less than $3k. I'm leery when a gun shop owner tries to tell me that my rifle that has hundreds of rounds of flawless operation through it, isn't worth staking my life on, especially when he's got a "replacement" on the rack. Trust me, there's plenty of members on here who can tell you how little it takes to get even a slightly flawed DPMS running like a sewing machine. I can think of about 5 major upgrades you can do to your hardware to improve accuracy and reliability before you surpass the $1k mark. 1. High Quality Trigger 2. High Quality Barrel 3. Heavy Buffer/Recoil Spring 4. Stock Mods/Replacements 5. Free float options In any one of these five options, you have lots of leeway to pick good options and displace money to put on another item, and still come out better than you were with an off the shelf rifle. That's what this forum is all about brother, talk to some people about their mods before you decide you don't like the rifle you have.
  7. Unless your wait is more crushing than my February to December suppressor wait, I don't want to hear your crying! ;) No seriously brother, I feel your pain, really I do. :(
  8. He buys a reliable build from someone who is tired of buying shelf rifles and loves building! Seriously brother, their are some good "already customized" rifles out there that were shelf bought and then modified before the purchaser got the itch to build. Seek those out in the "For sale" sections of some of the larger gun forums on the 'Net. You can find a great rifle at awesome prices if you don't get stuck on the "used" label. Heck, you can buy my Mk12 build off of me if you're really desperate!
  9. Wow, just got through browsing the Mernickle website. I think I just found another viable candidate to help keep my bank account empty. <laughs>
  10. Brings to mind my dad's .54 cal Thompson Center Hawken. It's got a gorgeous walnut stock and fine brass decorations and a brass buttplate that comes to nice sharp points top & bottom just like Jon described. Load that sucker up with about 200 grains of black powder and a swaged 500gr slug, and call the ambulance ahead of time, cause' you're gonna feel pain when you send that sucker downrange.
  11. You did mention it, but now that you've mentioned it about 5 times now, you are obliged to post target pics. <thumbsup> Sorry, it's an unwritten rule we have here.
  12. That's a sweet gun Robo, gotta love those NIB SI-Defense BCG's huh? Mine will never depart from me. As it turns out, I've put together a build with components that either are or have become rarer than hen's teeth....
  13. Don't be, this is no problem that a completely seperate build won't fix. Heck, what's one more purpose built AR in the arsenal? Useful, that's what! >:D
  14. You've got to be kidding me... I'm all the time wading out of the surf with my MA TEN in hand, water dripping off and draining from the buttstock. It makes for a fantastic motivational poster! <laughs> <lmao>
  15. Have to agree on that one when I look at the way the ejection port and shell deflector are cut, identical to the MA TEN uppers. Mega it is!
  16. It will do for selling purposes. We only require a picture of the actual item for sale. This picture meets that requirement and will suffice. Good luck! <thumbsup>
  17. I like the way you think! <thumbsup> <munch>
  18. Only thing I can come up with besides being Mega's new offering, would be Seekins Precision is coming out with something new.
  19. Been safely shooting 308 out of a 7.62 chamber for over 2 years now in an AR. You're GTG.
  20. Hate that I missed out on that brother, I wanted to at least buy him a meal, but work has been demanding a lot of my time lately. :(
  21. This made me laugh loud and long. You can take a feller outta the military but you'll never get the military outta that feller. Just an observation, as you were. <thumbsup> :hornet:
  22. Can't beat a Leatherman, bought one for my dad's birthday and it has an unconditional lifetime replacement warranty. <thumbsup>
  23. HERESY! As soon as the Admins unlock the "SHTF" locker, beatings will ensue. Just kidding... <laughs> <lmao> I hear lots of great things about the 6.5, it has turned out to be an excellent round for the large frame AR.
  24. That's awesome, made me laugh aloud. <laughs>
  25. Welcome to the forums! It always makes me happy to see another North Carolinian join. <thumbsup>
