Stop and/or slow down, on whose dime? Yours, mine? Certainly not on theirs, not when demand is at historic highs.... It's a demand-driven supply chain. The reason they're reputable for being a great barrel company is that the overwhelming majority of their customers got a great product immediately. That you didn't is unfortunate but I'm pretty confident they will correct the issue at little if any cost.

It's a great barrel company! Yours is the first and only barrel with their name on it that I've heard of or seen issues with... Granted, you didn't get a good barrel. Noted. It's their response that should determine your judgement, not one statistically insignificant anomaly.

We've seen this so many times I've lost count. The best way to build a large AR is to source your upper and lower from the same manufacturer so as to guarantee a match. You're not the first or last person to be bit by the lack of a "standard" for large ARs. I'd recommend getting an Aero lower.

I'd start with the fact that its dry as a bone at the outset. It's well documented that this platform needs to be broken in with copious quantities of heavy lube at the outset. Get that sucker soaking wet to begin with, after that cease & decist from riding that charging handle. Yank that sucker to the rear until it slips your grasp and slams home.

That's also incorrect. The end of the buffer tube overlaps the nearest side and the central pin on the end of the buffer retainer blocks the buffer travel. What I'm looking for is the specific position of your theoretical perpendicular hole, as opposed to what's shown on the drawing. As a machinist, the drawing shows the location and specifics of the angled hole with so much specificity as to remove any doubt about how to machine that feature. What I want to know is where your hole would be located with equal specificity. If you give that some thought, you might understand some of the necessity of both the angle of the hole and it's specific location in the bigger picture of when the assembly comes together.

Where is your theoretical and perpendicularly drilled hole located as opposed to the drawing shown?
