Hey @DNP 🖕🖕🖕 • full length handguard, providing 3/6/9 o’clock MLOK attachments. • Full monolithic top rail. • extended mag release • flared and extended MagWell • capable of accepting any Mossberg 500/590 compatible stock, grip or stock adapter.

Why do people do anything beside Aero builds?
Robocop1051 replied to Casper's topic in Building a .308AR
I don’t think I ever picked a receiver for “ease of assembly“. I primarily pick my receiver sets based on the options and features that are available on that platform. What kind of material is it made out of? How is that material finished? Does it have integrated mechanical/operational features? What is its compatibility with other parts?b what is its compatibility with other parts? -
I have to save some of my secrets, or else you’ll never be surprised

Fuck off… I finish this one along time ago. I just haven’t brought it out yet.

That is so badass… I have something “special“ coming out specifically for these new “Firearms”.
-
In all fairness though. This thread is about parts that failed, and not about shit I broke because I’m an idiot.

You guys aren’t trying hard enough

Say what???? The smartest design on the market... 1. Right side mag release from the trigger finger. 2. Ability to add ANY Mossberg 500/590 compatible stock or AR adapter. 3. Flared magwell for easier loading.

This is going to make you guys laugh... after reading this post I can now stop looking for my missing LAW Adapter. Great job on the stick brother!

Truth! Big spoon / little spoon!

You have a lot of work ahead of you... The nice thing it, you are almost completely able to recover... as long as you buy "quality" part hereon out.

Replacing wood with iron. The ground here is all rock, and I’m too lazy to use a breaker bar. Renting an auger to dig out the post holes.

This is just because I hate @DNP. The front end is DONE. The receiver has a 3/4” top rail getting cut right now. That’ll provide a complete monolithic top rail. You can see the pin in the top of the handguard. That will be part of the lockup feature to guarantee sight alignment. Stay tuned... the biggest feature is yet to come!! hint....

The heavier buffers can only get heavier by using more expensive metals. Currently, Tungsten is is getting about $20 a pound while steel is getting less than a $1.... and that’s just material weight. Machine time is greatly increased in tungsten over steel too. My average machine cost is slight over a $1 a minute. For me to chuck in a piece of steel rod and machine it to size, would be a minimum 10-15 minute job. That time would almost double with tungsten and the wear on my tools would greatly increase. All of these costs (material weight + machine time + tool wear) has to be reflected in the price. I’m currently working on a way to reduce the costs of tungsten to my buyers, by reducing the amount of labor required on my end. Ordering pre-measured extrusion is one way around that.

Now if every subscriber bought one item…

This guy knows best! I swear the old man is held together with sheet metal screws, roofing tacks and chicken wire.

Some early prototypes. There has been some SERIOUS weight reduction and streamlining done since these pics.

Stay tuned for Pt:2.... it only gets less and less PC from here.

Some of you may have seen these already. Some of you may even own one. I saw this takedown rifle last year, and watched in awe as it flew off the shelves in Ca. This year Ruger announced that it was going to make that half-assed MLOK handguard too. The reason they tilt the rifle in the pictures is so you don’t see the barrel sits in the top 1/3 of the handguard, off center from the MLOK side points. They wanted to utilize the iron sights and not have to worry about matching a top rail to the ridiculously low rear picatinny mount. For several months I’ve been sneaking 5-10 mins in at a time, slowing working on a side project. My team thought I was crazy... until Ruger announced that new MLOk model. Not to be outdone by anyone... CROM is coming out of the gate, swinging LONG and HARD. This is the first announcement of a CROM “Not So PC” handguard and monolithic top rail. Not only will I be making a full length handguard and rear rail riser, all while maintaining the takedown feature of the rifle, but if you look closely... there is a rail-to-rail lock up to guarantee your monolithic sight alignment returns as close to 0 as possible when you take the rifle apart and put it back together. It was really cute that Ruger (and everyone else that made a handguard) kept the cheapo, short radius, iron sights open and usable. I’m sure no rifle owner thought about wanting to actually put decent sights on their rifles. I plan on getting some pics up soon with various types of fixed iron sights and BUIS. I’m definitely interested in seeing how some CZ Scorpion sights, or HK MP7 sights, would look on this carbine.

That’s the old model. The old model was a converted Glock frame. The new model (not out yet) is their own aluminum frame, that accepts any generation (3, 4, or 5) G19 slide... which means it’ll also accept a G17 Gen5 slide. The new model is JUST a frame and FCG. You still have to purchase a complete upper assembly. This would never replace my EDC gun... but I definitely see a time and place that someone would need something EXTRA concealed.
