Rsquared has a point... and I'm not talking about the one on the top of his head this time... you could easily get yourself into a basic AR10a right now and be right around $1k. That would leave a LOT of upgrading room for the remainder of your budget.

The Mega costs slightly more due to their ambi feature... but I don't see the value of it. For about $40 you can buy a Phase5 extended bolt catch for the SI-D and actually get more performance. If you like fixed stocks and you don't want to break the bank or buy a boat anchor, check out the Magpul MOE fixed A2 stock and the Rock River Arms (RRA) A2 Operator stock. Vltor also makes a fixed stock, but I believe it's a bit pricier.

Welcome. I just assisted a member build nearly this exact rifle. You should get lots of help here. My $0.02 is, a Mega Arms or SI Defense receiver set and hold out for the Fulton Armory 16" rifle length barrel. As long as you stick to those, everything else is just preferences. Good luck

That's why I need the "pistol". I emptied out the saddle bag and got a padded liner all set up. A 10.5" pistol with a LAW Tactical folding adapter will fit perfectly... as well as give me about 11" of receiver extension. I'll still be able to shoulder NTCH like a SBR.

I've been Paleo for almost 18 months now. I'm about 60/40 veggies and fruit over meat. I'm trying to reduce my red meat to only the stuff I kill, primarily getting my protein from fish and birds. I hoping to have a good pheasant season this year, maybe hit a Tom or two, and nothing beats our mountain quail (got a side by side .410 I've been itching to take out).

I have a WMD Guns, full auto BCG in my 300 Blk. I also have a NiB treated BCG made by SI-Defense. NiB is decent by itself, but it really shines when combined with FireClean. As for BCG finishes, I also have two melonite treated Adams Arms piston carriers. They are equally as nice and run just as smooth.

FUCKTITTIES!!! :rant2: Well, it looks like LWRC doesn't want to play ball. My pusher begged and pleaded for me, and despite selling a 10.5" upper, they denied piecing one to a pistol for me... TWICE. They are adamant about ONLY selling their pistol with an 8.5" barrel. This would be fine for me, if I were on a SWAT entry team and knew I wouldn't be making a shot beyond 25 yards. However, I will have to qualify with this "pistol" out to 100 yards to be used as a patrol weapon. I really wanted to go with a 10.5" to 11.5" barrel system. Based on my storage limitations, I figured I can fit a 10.5" with just about any muzzle device, or an 11.5" with an A2 spec'd (ie; BC v2.0) As for the AXTS AX556, it appears that I would have better chances of birthing twin unicorns out my ass before anyone in California is willing to touch that lower receiver... FUKC YOU BOXER AND FEINSTEIN!!! This leaves me with two options left; Buy the LWRCi pistol with the 8.5" barrel, and all the mechanical options I wanted, and if I need/want to later, upgrade to a 10.5" or 11.5" upper. I'm sure there's a market for an 8.5" piston upper somewhere <dontknow> Buy a stupid, plain, forged/billet AR Pistol (ie; Spikes, Sig, blah blah blah...) and then bolt on the ambi features I want (BAD lever and mag release). That'll let me add my own upper, with all the exact features I want.... Ultimately saving lots of $$$ in the long run as well.
