  1. I put a BABC on the end of my 300Blk
  2. That's so funny. My 300Blk is a non-traditional Dissy, using a 14.5" barrel. It wasn't easy.
  3. Holy poop! No sooner do I post, the guy calls me asking if I'm ready to pick up the ammo. Looks like I'm shooting sooner than I thought.
  4. I should call him up and see if he wants to unload that set as a "blem". I'll take a rough finish for a little discount.
  5. I just scored 500 rounds of 125gr Hornady SST. I should be picking them up soon
  6. I started shooting with my dad at about 5 or 6 years old. I was tagging along on hunts by 6 or 7. I was actually partaking in the hunting by 9. By 12 I was shooting trap at the local gun club... That was all in the mid 80's though, and times are much different now. My folks didn't have to compete with MTV and Liberal Activists back then. I think you, as the parent, have the best judgement of your kid's ability to control him/her-self. If you think the kid is ready, then get him started. If you have apprehensions about his maturity (which is completely understandable at his age), then I suggest breaking him in at a later stage. I never suggest toy guns (BB or airsoft) for education. I think you lose the threat of "DESTROYED FOREVER" with a toy. Shake a soda can, set it up about 15 yards away, and shoot it with something big. The end result is impressive to watch, and the damage should leave a lasting impression. It's a very descriptive picture of DESTROYED FOREVER. I personally can't wait to get my son started on shooting (he's 5 months old, so I have some time). I fully plan on having him competing pre-teen competitions. I come from several generations of hunters/shooters. My wife shoots alongside me and encourages teaching our son as early as we can.
  7. A picture is worth a thousand words.
  8. I wrote "most things"... That excludes crazy bastards with custom built widow-makers.
  9. If I'm only recommending between the two, go for the 716... Stay away from CMMG as much as you can. If you want the best off the shelf shooter, check out the LaRue rifles.
  10. Yeah, I was yelling at the computer, "drag that fukin knee you sissy!!" I give him credit though. He cleared those intersections really well and played a safe cat and mouse game. Personally I wouldn't have gotten off my bike at the end. Stay on until you can't keep going. I'd like to know more about the back story on the call. WTF were all those plain clothes guys doing there??? I can understand one, MAYBE two, but I've never seen that many respond... Unless there's an open bar!
  11. That's the BMW 1200, a decent bike but a complete slug. We ride Honda ST1300's. We almost went with the Kawasaki Concourse 1400, but they were too wide and suicidal fast. The ST is rediculous fast already, and kills most things on the road. Speed is just an extra perk though. I mainly rely on my ability to ride vs their quickly dissolving luck.... Some of you already saw the pictures :)
  12. Now that's funny!
  13. Also, try using only half loaded mags. New mags have strong springs. When fully loaded in a new gun, it can be hard/rough ripping a new cartridge out. The extra work slows the BCG a bit.
  14. Wet wet wet wet WET WET WET... Dripping, sloppy, soupy, wet! It sounds like your BCG isn't going fully back into battery. A little lube on the buffer doesn't hurt either. Try soaking your BCG in oil (I actually pre-soak mine in Mobile1 full synthetic). Then, on range day, lube up your fire control group, buffer assembly and upper receiver. The .308 needs to settle in with its parts. They are all a bit rough to start.
  15. ... But you only go to jail tired. C:-) http://www.youtube.com/embed/23i-BvSZqzU?rel=0 Motors do it best!!!
  16. Lol, I learned the hard way that my NF does NOT have an auto off feature. It takes a little practice and a lot of double/triple checking to remember to turn that bastard off.
  17. If you really want to mess with your coworker... Every time he leaves his computer unattended, google search "how to make an IED" and other similar anti-government/pro-insurgent topics. The funny happens in a few weeks
  18. Ugh... Ba-dum-bum
  19. OpticsPlanet is having a big sale right now
  20. I still say .416 proj's!!
  21. Much to my surprise, my wife just said "you should go." If you can make this happen, I'll bust ass to be able to attend. It's only a 5 hour drive or 45 min flight for me.
  22. AP lower enroute. LPK and mil spec buffer tube stock assembly included. LGS has MAG lowers in stock. His price is a tad high. I think I'll try to talk him down after the holiday. I think an order to AXTS is in the works too. I've wanted an AX556 for too long. After a brief email conversation, they advised that they'd send the lower as a "pistol" on the receipt.
  23. Haters gonna hate.... At least until I get to NY and get to play with yours!!!
  24. Dump a koolaid packet inside a guys work boot. Preferably purple or blue. On a good summer day you can stain his foot for a month.
  25. I conceal carry as a LEO, but I've often wanted to open carry as an option. Unfortunately open carry for me is a work no-no, unless I'm in duty and in some kind of uniform. I did threaten that if I went to a plain clothes detail, I'd invest in a SASS "Wild Bunch" rig and carry my 1911.
