  1. Is it that dirty? You could've also broken down the rifle into two halves, then squirt a big shot of BreakFree or FireClean into the bolt from underneath. It should loosen up whatever carbon is freezing things up within a few minutes. For the future, take a look at the Mecharmor Defense "TacOps-1" ambi charging handle. It's a really solid handle that can take a beating. I had a bad reload stuck in my chamber and was able to dislodge it by pounding the stock downward (mortar style) and hitting the charging handle at the same time. If you're interested, we have an ongoing group buy here on our website.
  2. I'm doubt the 15" keymod will weigh much less than the standard 15" ff tube.
  3. It's all personal preference. There isn't a "more reliable" model. There's only a "do you need this feature or not". I own a custom DI. A really good friend of mine has a PWS with a piston system. I've shot both and both function without a hitch. Both shoot super accurate. Some people like the piston because they think you don't have to clean it as much. I haven't cleaned my DI since I built it. It shoots fine all dirty. There are no easy parts swaps on the piston guns. If something wears or breaks (while this isn't likely to happen in the life of most shooters) then you are forced to use the manufacturer to get back into the game. DI parts can be found on 1,000 different websites, and can be installed with the simplest mechanical skills. There's a sense of satisfaction knowing you built a rifle. There's also the sense of dependability when you buy from a manufacturer. I guess what I'm getting at is, this is all personal preference. You just gotta do what feels right to you. Don't get sucked into the "Chevy vs Ford" debate.
  4. That is an awesome machine.
  5. There's no rush if you don't have a monetary investment. Give the guy space to make it or break it on his own. If he pulls it off and your time is still available, you continue as planned. If he fails, and fades off into the shadows of unknown machinists, then you're out nothing.
  6. I'm also a Tops fan. Glad to see you back, upright. Let's get Goin on the 308! Lots of stuff has come out since you've been away.
  7. I see it every day. Cops are natural people watchers, so we point and laugh often at how people get so absorbed into their electronics. CA has me hammering drivers for using phones while driving. This kind of crime, especially in SF, is not surprising to me in the least
  8. My kid has ninja poop.... You don't know it's happening, till you're right next to it.
  9. Aww shyt. I wore the hat just so you guys would recognize me. I'm an even 190# in that video... Cowboy up in them Wranglers too! Wife is loving it. I was 275# when I met you all in AZ last year. I shot Bubba's 308 standing. I lifted that SOB way above the horizon, and was able to squeeze off two rounds on the downward travel before it nose planted in the dirt. Lol
  10. Now does it work???
  11. The first HIGH capacity handgun!!! Lefaucheux 20-Round Double-Barreled Revolver (1823) - 7.65mm Pin Fire
  12. http://s16.photobucket.com/user/robocop1051/media/20131005_3548_zps979355a2.mp4.html Does this work?
  13. That'd require me to learn youtube.... :hunter:
  14. OK, So I apparently suck at using this new phone. It definitely can do WAY more than I know how to do. I promised to post up a video, but so far all I have figured out is a screen shot. A couple of the guys and I met up yesterday to waste some lead, and pollute the spotted bald condors. Here's what I got so far... And the best one of the lot... (a screen shot from our "mad minute"... Which only lasted a few seconds, lol)
  15. I assume you're still talking about gasblock diameters... They only come in four sizes; .625 (5/8"), .750 (3/4"), .875 (7/8"), .936 (15/16"... roughly). You should be able to measure fairly easily with a standard ruler. Measure around the gasblock area, not the barrel.
  16. You can kindly inform the naysayers, the AR-10 preceded the AR-15.... by about 5 years! The gun was originally designed to shoot the 7.62x51, and then REdesigned to shoot the 5.56x45.
  17. I have a SI-D .308 with the NiB upper receiver and NiB BCG. It shoots GREAT. Several guys here can contest to it. I've been shooting it for over a year now, and have yet to oil or clean it. The NiB coating is holding true to its reputation.
  18. Yeah. How did this not make national news? This sounds like Facebook fiction.
  19. Mine was similar... different results Boss: "Hey, was Rob there in a timely manner this morning?" Boss' Assistant: "Nope." Boss: "Oh, I thought so."
  20. What!?! The hospital doesnt have Wifi??? Hurry up and get back.
  21. Shared
  22. $900-$1k, depending on options and manufacturer.
  23. I too was a little upset... Although, to Sketch's credit, everyone in his family has more artistic ability than I do. Every pumpkin I've ever tried to make looks like a Hurricane Katrina survivor. I'm alway envious of even young art. Here ya go Shepp!! When in doubt, trust Robo to come through! Also trut him to make a G rated thread into an NC-17!!!
  24. I was just about to post the same. Barnes also has a mail in rebate. $5 per box, upto $20
  25. ProofResearch.com If you call, ask for Jeff Badelt or Mike Dagerness. They did a beautiful job on my barrel, but the waiting line is quite considerable (as was the price). You can see my build here.
