  4. That's a long wait.... I know your pain. I waited 5 months for a scope and 14 months for a barrel
  5. I should say, Proof Research has had Mike Rock barrels in the past.
  6. Proof Research has Mike Rock barrels
  7. California!?!? Nothing good EVER came from California. Welcome, from NorCal. Lol
  8. I can go all the way to .09 and then add a tungsten buffer.
  9. It shouldn't be by much. The military had been cutting 16" barrels down for YEARS. The Commando and XM177 are both chopped 16" barrels. Daniel Defense has been making their Mk18 with a 10.3" barrel and carbine gas for a long time too. I'll see if I can find the measurements for that gas port and compare it to my Colt. I'll also call the barrel guy and hear what he has to say. If he has to open it up, I'm ok with that too.
  10. My LGS got two of these in. I'm impressed with the Ambi features.
  11. Welcome from NorCal. Are you drilling out the lower, or do you have access to a mill?
  12. Blue is right. All your parts sound great, you just have to change to a rifle length buffer instead of the carbine length. Technically you want an A1 buffer tube, although most people don't know the difference between an A1 and an A2. If you get an A2, you'll need a spacer to fill a gap between the PRS stock and the tube. Most A2 tubes come with those spacers.
  13. Sorry, I was on diaper duty.
  14. So, I've had this old Colt 5.56 barrel sitting in a drawer for quite a while. Nothing spectacular, just a 16" carbine, but it is a LW .625 pencil profile. I took it off a Colt 6520, and replaced it with a LW 14.5" middy. I recently decided to start moving on my "pistol" build. Now instead of a new barrel, I found a guy who'll cut this Colt bbl down to size for me. I always hated that short barrels were med/hvy profiles. I'm going to take this old barrel down to 10.3" and bask in the excellence of its lightweight. I've seen some pretty light pistol/SBR builds. I can't wait to see how this one turns out. I have an $1100 order on Brownells saved for a later date. I think the last part I'm waiting on is the release of the KAC URX4 rail system.
  15. Nothing beats riding. Even the worst day riding is better than the best day at work... WTF am I saying, I do ride when I'm working!?!? I can't believe I'm getting paid for this crap.
  16. The AAC muzzle brake (with the dual chambers) or the new Surefire. That'd be a good start for a suppressor set-up
  17. I have this part. It worked when I did the EXACT same mistake as DNP.
  18. Damn it! I have a tool designed to remove those buggers. You would've been done in few seconds. I had a similar issue a while back happen to me. I bought the tool, used it once, and never ran into the problem again.
  19. This is absolutely the VERY best advice you are going to get. The next closest advice would be to follow his instructions without hesitation.
  20. I can't bro. My whole world is 16:9
  21. How did I miss this until now? It's about freakin time you got on.
  22. Finally got the wife to the theater and sat down to watch "World War Z". It was ok. Not a complete waste of $, but I could've been just a satisfied watching it on BluRay. The sweet part was the SUPER MEGA presence of Armalite rifles. It was so much, that they even do a close up of a rifle so you can read the logo on the side of the rifle. Look for the scene when Brad Pitt is first rescued by chopper, and dropped off on the carrier. Just after the group unloads from the chopper the camera pans around to a soldier an then closes in on his rifle. For the record, I didn't see any other advertising in the movie. Not even the regular Coke or Pepsi. I just thought it was cool and wanted to share.
  23. Call Proof Research and ask about their carbon fiber wrapped Satern barrels. Superior quality and performance made to your exact specs. You really can't find a "better" barrel.
  24. If you don't see a pin or weld, it's likely just on there with pressure.
