  1. i mostly shoot gmm in 168 gr, black hills red box a close second, also 168 gr. i would like to know about the gmm in 175 gr also, i've never even seen it on the shelf
  2. i also have two, love em <thumbsup>
  3. good find <thumbsup>
  4. what are you gonna do with the ice cream? <munch>
  5. like guns!!!!!!! best of luck picking out one <lmao>
  6. herk, i was wondering how your search is going, weather is getting nicer you know
  7. <lmao> <munch> robo, you're killing me <lmao>
  8. i would say that you should focus yourself in the 16 or 18 inch barrel range, only because you'll be traversing some terrain that could make a longer gun more difficult to travel with. either should allow plenty of accuracy for kill shots, groups tight enough for that. oh, btw, you'll start at one and slowly crave another to fill a need you never quite knew you had and before you know it it's time for a bigger safe. <laughs>
  9. Welcome. Besides your previous stated purchase points, what else are you looking for? Do you have ar experience, regardless the caliber? I would start by deciding exactly what you like, then set a budget, and make a list. Do you know what the end use will be? Like it's smaller bretheren, size matters. Then its the optics and other goodies. Sorry, that probably didn't help <dontknow> <lmao>
  10. I seem to be having a sort of bolt overrun issue wth my gsg5 22lr. It started late last year, and the all of the last three trips to the rangeits been the same. Once a mag (sometimes more) it will crunch a round into the feed ramps between the bolt and chamber. I tried a brand new mag, half loading a mag, dif high velocity and standard ammo, out of ideas. <dontknow>
  11. Sorry to hear about that oly, my friend had the same issues and basically rebuilt hos with better parts. The good news is you came to the right place, everyone here will do more to help than dpms, welcome to the forum. ;)
  12. I have some of the c products mags and they work well in all the versions I bought. 7.62x51 larue/pws, 7.62x39 preban colt sporter
  13. Agreed, the only smith .45 I want is the gunsite edition which is hard to come by. Wish I could get a les baer. Thats ok, right now between $4 dollars a gallon and groceries, ammo is all I can save for. 8)
  14. thanks tac, you just cost about $300 <lmao>. sw, it isn't that i don't want a 1911, but alas my lovely state gun laws deny me the right to purchase a kimber, les bear, nighthawk, or any other nice model out there. generally whats left is smith, sig, and the occasional pre bans. i just haven't found one i like of those yet i guess. i really like the way my glocks shoot, and improving on that is what i want to do for now. as for your experience 98, not sure what happened but personal preference is the reason there are so many types and styles out there. if you look at savage arms rifles, all their triggers are like glock triggers now, but i forget the name they give it
  15. i won't deny our shitty gun laws, but the service and way of reply that i got from them was one of being the small insignificant guy not buying into a large contract run. on top of that i have some friends who work there and they have told me personally that they are running four cnc's at a time with two temps doing qc. if it shoots it ships doesn't go over well for me, and i was dusted off on customer service, but like i said before, it could be an isolated incident
  16. has anyone upgraded their glocks? i was on the glockmeister page and was wondering about some new upgrades for my 19 and 26. thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated, i was looking at the kkm match barrel and tungsten recoil spring.
  17. a little tidbit, smith and wesson is literally 15 mins from my front door.
  18. those are nice <thumbsup>
  19. i had an mp 40 and it wasn't a bad shooting gun, except it had a mass trigger (supposedly set at ten pounds, measured at 13.4). also it shot one o'clock high, by 5 inches at 25 ft. i had sent it to the smith performance center to fixed ( tried to get the performance ctr mp job and the sighting issue) and was told the gun was fine… then told they couldn't work on it anyway because it was a mass compliant gun. i asked if i could get a ten lb trigger, and they said no, it was a mass gun. everything i asked, no it is a mass gun. i wasn't the only one to shoot it, all had they same sighting issue. i said f&*k it, traded it in for a glock 19. it has a 5 lb trigger, shoots 3" groups at 50 ft and runs like a top. so i found a glock 26 and bought that too. one thing i'd like to mention about the difference of take down. the glock is incredibly easy, the smith was much more difficult. my expirience may have been unique, but i will only buy a glock from here on out.oh yeah, not mass compliant, need to buy used.
  20. interesting. so many variations and caliber choices off the .30 cal. it's too bad that here in mass i don't really have a reason to buy it. it can't rifle hunt, unless it's bear, and i can't buy high cap mags or ammo through the mail, and haven't seen that caliber in the local shop. 7.62x39 is the more logical choice for me, just for availability.
  21. I will second that <thumbsup>
  22. 20", surefire qd brake. It shoots great, probably 1/2 moa with me shooting, I have range pics posted under that post. <thumbsup>
  23. Thats too far for me to pedal <lmao>, well let me know if you ever venture north <thumbsup>
