Yep, that's damn near perfect, and much more gooder than a shortass gas tube, cheating you out of some important gas timing. Very nice. But, no pic of this 3d printed sleeve? Come on, Man!

Aero M5 receivers are compatible with DPMS LR-308 patterns, and they're the High Profile, not the Low Profile. DPMS changed the top pic rail height around 2012-ish, and made it about 0.060" lower. Here's info on that: There isn't a Gen 1 DPMS. There's the LR-308, which is the original version. Then, there's the DPMS G II pattern, and that shrinks the receivers to almost AR15-size, and you're supposed to be able to use any AR15 rail on them. I was gonna recommend this, and the Glock 43X. @DustBuster, find a place to rent, like the guys are saying. That's the best way to go, because in a few rounds downrange, she's gonna be able to tell if she likes it or it won't work at all. Find a place that has the 365 XL and the 43X, and make sure she tried them both. I'm betting one of them is gonna be the one that she goes with.

Let us know how it turns out. Budget guns have budget problems, most likely in recoil systems and gas systems. Since you're building it yourself, you can probably avoid those pitfalls, so I'll watch this one, and see how it turns out.

Worth the risk then. Go for it.

This one. For the reference he's making about "the girl that found him" watch the movie Zero Dark Thirty. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1790885/

Be interesting to see if they fit. Hope this works - make sure to keep this thread updated, both good and bad. This is the only way we learn, here.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

That's an easy change to make on any standard 10/22, and you can do it with a Dremel and a bit. I've been doing that for years, before any kits. All you need to do is cut out that heart-shaped tang, and you have an auto-boit release. It's like this: -
Mike Glover podcast, Fieldcraft Survival Channel, on YT. DJ Shipley and Cole on there for this one, talking about transitioning out of the .mil machine. It's pretty damn good. Pay attention at around 18:48 in there... "You don't have a Platoon of Rangers coming to save your ass..." The whole thing is just badass conversation. Do a whole career, and get out - it ain't easy. Not in the least. It's not easy to "learn how to be a civilian" after 20 years - when there is NOTHING related to civilians in your background. The transition is no joke... Maybe if you only did 4 years or 6 years - not so much of a problem. To dedicate your young life for the defense of the nation... and then, you're done. That's not easy. It's work, and it's work on yourself, your future, goals, your life... I signed up at 17, retired at 39. That's a pretty shiitty transition, find your way, find your life, make something of it... It's a sucky experience, but you gotta do something, get over it, and drive on. I don't wish it on anybody, not even a worst enemy. I have a few of those, but they don't need to go through that. EDIT - Well, maybe a few of my worst enemies need to feel pain, and I really wish they'd feel the life-pain of a transition like that. For those - I hope they can't do it. Fail.
-
We might never know, unless you try it. Never seen that combo here before. It's a risk, but worth trying -maybe. Common rule is stick with uppers and lowers from the same manufacturer - then you can blame the manufacturer when things don't go as planned. There's no guarantee of compatibility in the Large Frame ARs.
-
Saw velocities in the 750-850fps range. Way subsonic. That's why charges are going up now. More speed, but keep it subsonic. More speed, subsonic = more range.
-
Freaky. We put the steel out there at 50 yards. Didn't give a shiit about groups, wanted cycling. 647 ball - didn't even find a TRACE of a bullet fragment, anywhere. That bigass projectile DISAPPEARED after it hit that 1/2" plate. Gone. Nothing left. And there's a steel insert in that stuff, or at least something that attaches to a magnet. Just. Gone.
-
There's alot of load development that day - and we learned alot. Now, all charges go UP. It's on like Donkey Kong...

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

It's quality stuff, man. I love it. It all works very well together, that whole kit. That's my reason for saying I'll take it off your hands, no monetary penalty on your part, if you don't like it. If you don't like it, that just means I need another 10/22... -
Amazing story of history - 1st, on the man, what a hero, and such selfless service. 2nd, on the gun. Forgotten Weapons is really good at what they do, find, and tell about. All around...
-
Nope. It's all up to @Robocop1051 whether we release any other information. Gun runs.
-
Nope. That's a Cunuck thing, brother...

I have a complete TacSol 10-22 gun, 16" barrel, OD Green, on their own action, and I support your decision. I love 10-22s, but I've never, ever been a Volq guy for them. I'll do some Kidd parts. Furthest I ventured off the reservation has been that TacSol whole gun, right from them, complete. And it's badass. For action parts, I'll completely recommend Power Custom (Grand Masters LLC) Grand Master Action Kit. It turns the box-stock Ruger 10/22 into a literal Shooting Ninja. http://powercustom.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=81 Minus that one whole TacSol gun, the other 3 Ruger 10/22s have that full kit in them. They're badass. If you buy that kit, and hate it, let me know. I'll buy it off you for the full MSRP price that you paid, plus shipping to me. I'll take it off your hands if you think it sucks. I have one spare full kit sitting here already, and just need another 10/22 to put it in. Another spare won't hurt me much. That's my money-back guarantee here. I don't lose much. Just sayin'. -
That works. Did you see the post I made before the one you quoted? We were replying at the same time, so I had 2.
-
Read all the way to the end before you answer the first thing you see - things come up all the time. Questions come up from people all the time. Don't respond to the first thing you see - read it through, all the way, and use the multiple quotes and answer each question.
-
Here's an example that will help you out - I want you to try it. All I did to quote you right there was highlight what you said in that last post -left mouse button, drag over words, let go. After I did that, I highlighted just that phrase from you what I wanted -and right away a "quote selection" appeared below it, down and to the right. I clicked that. And your quote showed up, at the top of this post I'm making. That's the forum software, in action. try it out, quote me, highlight a section of words I just made in this post, and reply with that quote. This is gonna streamline this process, and help you answer people that are asking you questions. You can do that over and over, and quote multiple people, and answer those questions after every quote that you make of their questions. Quote me - highlight something, reply to it, try it out. I'm putting more work into you than I normally do with other people. I'm trying to fix your gun, and I know I can. Help me help you.
-
I'll be honest with you - this is starting to get quite difficult, with this. Several detailed things have been asked of you, that should be simple, and we're not getting the direct answers to the direct questions that have already been asked. We're literally starting to waterboard you for pertinent information. My patience with that will run thin, and I'll blow this thread off. Completely. We're trying to help - you're not giving us the level of information that's required to help you solve your gun problem, over the internet. There's a reason we have these standards in place, and that reason is to be able to fix guns, over the internet, from written words and possibly pictures, from the person with the gun problem. No other place online will be able to solve this problem for you. Nowhere. This is the place to fix it, and fix it right. But we need your help in that. I hope that makes sense, and you understand that. What exactly happens, with one round in the magazine, when you fire the gun? Does the bolt lock back? I don't see how it mechanically can lock back, from one round in the mag, from the pics of the bolt face on the bolt catch.
-
For Roman @sketch... Love you, Bro. 🥰 Proof Of Life...
-
Is this after a one-round shot, or is this from you locking the bolt to the rear? To me, from this pic, it doesn't even look like the bolt catch will touch the follower in the magazine, on the last round, to move the bolt catch up and lock the bolt back. Hell, the little "tang" on that bolt catch barely looks like it extends to the edge of the magazine, let alone be long anough for the follower in the mag to push it up. You stated you got three magazines with it, and you were asked what brand of magazines you were running. The answer was "the 3 that came with it." That's not a brand of magazine. Who's mags are these? Who makes them. This is turning into Waterboarding. I'm just sayin'. We're having to extract information from you, in order to solve your problem - and we've given you the template that lists the amount of necessary information that needs to be provided to solve this kind of issue. Please, even if it seems silly, oblige. Help us help you here. Before going any further here, please confirm that you've read this thread right here, and understand it. Not trying to be insulting - trying to help you...
