  1. This is @JBMatt's current hotness - and it's sexy as FUQ! This thing delivers, for real. Here's Jim at Backfire, shooting Matt's ACTUAL gun. This IS Matt's gun that he's shooting... 1k yards, 1 MOA target. It's just legendary...
  2. Well, part of the recoil system is the receiver extension, and you only mentioned the buffer weight and the spring. Never mentioned what extension you planned, and that's a GIANT part of the Recoil System on a Large Frame AR. Ditch that WC spring, right off the bat. Forget about it. WC doesn't always get their gas port diameters right, in their large frame barrels, and I have a pile of proof of that, because I run WC barrels on all my weird caliber Large Frames. Buffer choice, in company? Very good. I run alot of Slash's buffers myself. What receiver extension are you planning? I'm asking you this directly, because of the buffer you listed, and I already know the length of that buffer. ,,,And, you have better options, that will work better, for this build. I'm running them in my 12.5" and 13.5" .308ARs...
  3. Hell yeah, brother! The only lessons you truly learn, are the ones that HURT!!!
  4. Rare Breed let's it rip... 1.5 hrs long, but worth it. Explains alot that Mike bitched about, towards the end of this thread, lately.
  5. I can tell you what you need for a recoil system - but I want to hear from you what your planned recoil system is first - and discuss that further, if necessary. Let it rip. What are you planning for your recoil system, and how did that come to be your conclusion...
  6. Get the Gas System and Recoil System balanced - and it should do great with a flow-through, and non-adjust block. Suppressed and unsuppressed. Tell me what your barrel config idea is, and I can tell you what the gas port diameter should be. For a 12.5, you should run a Carbine Gas System. If you decide to run a 13.5, you can get away with a midlength gas system. I can give you gas port diameters for both configs. 12.5 and midlength gas is tough to pull off, even in a 5.56 gun. Trust me. I have a few of those. Dwell time becomes the biggest issue.
  7. Non-adjustable. I believe in balancing the gas system to the recoil system. Get the gun right first, before you introduce suppressors. After suppressor introduction, if you need to change to an adjustable gas block - that's when you do it. Not out of the gate. Make the gun right, first.
  8. Check it. Gotta watch the whole thing to catch the real narrative here...
  9. ^^^ I have one of those, and kind of pioneered the gas tube length issue - how to measure, and get what you need. Those barrels were released with two different gas port locations. So, I have that 12.5" barreled .308 Win gun, and a 13.5" barreled .308 Win gun. OP, if you run into issues building one of these, post up here. Both mine run like a pissed off Banshee...
  10. SIG finally is trying to say something. It's not working well. I'm gonna start this with some Johnny B DRAMA LLAMA GO!!! Here's how SIG is trying to dig themselves out from under all this - and it's not good. They are trying, really hard - but what this SIG guy is saying about how the 320 operates - isn't happening. For whatever design reason, whatever "engineering" reason, implemented into reality... It's not working. "Intended Design..." "Engineering" Vs. "Execution." It comes to that. ^^^
  11. PSA certainly hasn't changed their large frame platform - they don't care. They make money, on cheap guns and a bad design, with band-aid "fixes" to work around their problems, and just sell to the masses. PSA is worried about the bottom line, profit, and doesn't care about much else. Ballistic Advantage makes all the barrels for AP. If there's a BA barrel that the gas port diameter is off, it's a very, very rare anomoly. That doesn't happen with BA barrels, and it's a fluke or a glitch in the matrix. I have a complete PILE of BA barrels in my guns that will attest to this statement. Trust me, there's alot of them.

    Grilling

Your style is way, WAY better, than shoe leather, brother. By far.
  13. Magwa...
  14. Maaaaaaan... I caught on to Ralphie May when he first came out. He was one of my favorite comedians, and they'd get him on the local Phx rock station in the morning show, routinely. They'd just call him up, cold-call him. One of the best, brightest minds in comedy. He is missed... He had a SMOKIN' HAWT WIFE, too!!!
  15. Charlie Tarac. Those things are insane... Basically - whatever you have - multiply that by what they say their device will do... They are all clip-ons or add-ons, and go on the end of the scope, or on the rail in front of the scope. Or, combine the clip-ons and add-ons for that much more. Exponentially.
  16. Johnny B!!! DRAMA LLAMA GO!!!
  17. Are you serious?!!? He gave me the last of those parts?!!? I definitely need to get off my ass, get into the shop, and build triggers for him. Man, I seriously didn't know that...
  18. @JBMatt, try to find my Stage 5 vid, if you guys captured that, when Rigo was talking shiit... It shows what this trigger can do. 2 of the 12" gongs on a hanger were target 1 and 2, at 310 yards. Rigo was squaking something when I went up to the line, and I just said "Hey Rigo - watch THIS..." I double-smacked those things so fast that the second one was swinging before they called the IMPACT for the first one... Take that, Rigo...
  19. So, Matt had the top of the line badass 2-stage trigger, all the coatings, etc., then Jules wanted it back. Prototype. Experimental. Somehow, in the testing, I ended up with it for about 2 weeks. I killed 2,000 flies on the back wall of the yard, dry-firing that thing, and Matt tells me I need to give it back, because it's going to AJ Anthony, #1 3-gunner on the planet right now. And, it's right before a match. AJ decides he doesn't want to change anything before a National match, and he's crunched for time, so I get the trigger for another week - and I shot it in last month's match. It's badass, loved it, gun was fucking up with shiit ammo, but the trigger was great - and Jules was in the squad with us. Gave him my feedback, told him I need that trigger in my life, don't care what it costs, and that's that. Jules tells me to come to the shop, hit him up, and he builds that trigger for me - not the whiz-bang fancy-coatings one, but the 2-stage. That's what I have now. The badass 2-stage, and I think it's just the basic one, no fancy coatings - but it doesn't matter... I don't need the fancy coatings, because this thing is MONEY... 1lb 9oz combined pull is what Jules said, when he handed it to me, after testing it in the pull gauge... It's just the most ridiculous 2-stage I've ever had. YOU... @JBMatt - you got to assemble whatever trigger you wanted, from the parts available, and you built what you built. That's on you...
  20. That's bullshiit... You built your own hybrid trigger that you wanted, right there in the shop...
