  1. This is what we're dealing with, men... Women are just batshiit... I'm just sayin'... Here's the proof...
  2. Check this out, fellas. @JBMatt on the radio this morning, from 7~9am. It's pretty badass. Ballistic Engineering Triggers. https://www.iheart.com/podcast/1248-don-mcdowell-outdoors-49217178/episode/81725-don-mcdowell-outdoors-289793246/ Not gonna lie - I've been trying to get Matt to make an announcement on these triggers here for awhile. This is the announcement. I'm running 10 of these triggers now, including the new 2-stage that's coming out in Q4 this year. Shot it in the match yesterday. The other 9 are AR Accurized triggers, mostly curved, a couple that are flats. Simply badass. https://www.ballisticengineering.net/
  3. So, planning the scope mounting solution out. The scope is set, 32 mils of internal travel, advertised, both windage and elevation. I need to take half that elevation travel out. I need 16 mils out. I have 20 MOA built into the top of the rifle. I'm putting the Burris Signature rings on it, adjustable to 40 MOA. Math on that: 60 MOA in the mounting on that setup. 60 / 3.4377 = 17.45 mils. Good. The scope is advertised at 32 mils internal, but it's probably more than that. if it's actually 35 mils, I can have a 100-yard zero. If I don't get a 100-yard zero, I don't care. I'll take a 500-yard zero, just like the .300 Win Mag has. So, speaking in MOA... 20 MOA in the top of the gun, 40 MOA in the rings. 32 mils in the scope x 3.4377 = 110.0064 MOA, so 110 MOA scope travel. 10 mils in the actual reticle itself, measured out in that reticle, just for hold-over if I have to. that's another 34.377 MOA, or 34 MOA. Total max range that I'd build in would be the equivalent of dialing plus holding... 204-ish MOA... Or, about 60 mils.. That would let me dial/hold to 3100 yards. Dial only to somewhere between 2800 and 2900 yards. I'll never get it to 2 miles. I need @Magwa's Ivey mount... With the Ivey mount, I could dial only to over 3800, justt short of 3900, and I could dial/hold to a tick over 4000 yards. Damn...
  4. Weight kinda goes out the window when looking for scopes. In reality, it doesn't matter much, besides humping the weight - it's centered over the middle of the gun, so it doesn't affect too much in gun-handling - unless it's an absolute brick. They're all gonna be a pound or two. If you want something that will do everything that the gun is capable of, look at the Primary Arms 3~18 SLX line. THey'll have a reticle that will work for you, no matter what, and it'll run you about $500. https://www.primaryarms.com/rifle-scopes/brand/primary-arms/magnification/3x-18x
  5. It's just piling up...
  6. Yep,when we got them, slide life was estimated at 5k rounds. Then the safety memos came out - Slide life is 2,500 rounds. Then another memo came out - Slide life is 1,250 rounds, and they'll start cracking, slides coming apart... Beretta won the contract, immediately built a factory in Brazil in order to produce them cheaper, and fulfilled the initial contract. They then sold that factory to Taurus, and Taurus walked in and started making the PT-92 right away. Taurus did 3 important thing - (1) changed the slide materials, completey, and offered a lifetime guarantee on the slide, then, (2) they moved the safety to the frame, where it belongs, and (3) got rid of that de-cocking bullshiit. I bought my PT-92 in 1991, took it out on it's first range outing that weekend, and sent 2,200 rounds through it. I still have it to this day.
  7. I love these two - they are hilarious...
  8. @sketch -enlighten , man - What would Sketchy Do?...
  9. Completely see my brother doing shiit like this for a test. Already seen him do it, for a lube test...

  14. I bet I can find 1400hp from ONE LS7 engine...
  15. Bro... You know my rule - You DON'T complicate shiit with complicated shiit... I'd rather build another 3-rotor RX-7 engine, and twin turbo it, than TOUCH Rob Dahm's 12-rotor experiment...
  16. @JBMatt, check the above post...
  17. So, I've told you guys for years that the SDTF is on BLM Land. I happen to work on the UTV that the BLM Agent personally has - that is assigned to our land area. Found that out about 5 or 6 years ago. We are ALWAYS Good To Go at SDTF. Because of Paul. So, he always tells me about all the crazy shiit he gets detailed on, like dune season, etc. He's been detailed to Burning Man for a few years now. I found this Gold Mine... Here's the vid: Just got off the phone with him, now his son is into doing some long range shooting - We'll see Paul more, and his son. Paul has also been picked up as an Instructor at Thunder Ranch, on his off-time. Definitely more to follow. Small World - in the Bigger Picture...
  18. You guys ever seen the Hartley Racing Engines design? It's 2 Hyabusa engines grafted into a V8. 2.6L, 13k rpm. Fukkin monster...
  19. I don't even know where to start - those are all epic. Very Epic.

  21. This all goes back to the P320 shiit... https://www.usacarry.com/glock-coa-pistols-pulled-from-civilian-market-rumors-tie-move-to-p320-troubles/ Glock COA Pistols Pulled from Civilian Market — Rumors Tie Move to P320 Troubles Reports have surfaced indicating that Glock has indefinitely paused civilian-market sales of its COA-equipped pistols to reserve production capacity for military contracts. The affected models—including 9 mm variants outfitted with the Aimpoint COA optic via the new A-CUT mounting system - will no longer be available to the public until further notice. Glockstore posted the following announcement in full: BREAKING NEWS: We’ve received news that all Glock COA models have been cancelled for the civilian market indefinitely to fill military orders. We don’t know if this means the US military or elsewhere but have heard rumors this could be related to the M17/P320. We expect the limited remaining supply to go very quickly and that no new COA models will hit the market any time soon. The mention of the M17/P320 is notable given recent events. The U.S. Air Force Global Strike Command has paused use of the M18 pistol—part of the P320 family—after an airman’s death at F.E. Warren Air Force Base. While the investigation is ongoing, the pause reflects broader safety concerns that have also led some agencies to ban all P320 variants from service. Industry speculation suggests these developments could be pushing military and law enforcement agencies to consider alternative platforms. Redirecting Glock COA production to fulfill those potential orders could explain the sudden halt in civilian availability. I actually had one of these COA-equipped Glocks for a while and just sent it back to Glock last week. Now, with this news, I’m wishing I’d tried to buy it. I really liked it—out of the box with a factory-installed Aimpoint red dot that was rock-solid and reliable. Moves like this are a reminder of how quickly civilian access to advanced firearms technology can disappear when military demand ramps up. The COA’s integrated optic system is a nice convenience for defensive shooting, and while there are still plenty of other quality options out there, it was appealing to have a factory-ready setup like this available to the civilian market.
  22. Hell yeah, @Albroswift - great info, brother!
