So... You're moving in with me, is what you're saying? Just need to know, ahead of time... Brace MYSELF for your impact...
-
^^^ Fucker bought a shell launcher...
-
The .338 Fed 16" gun shoots a little "softer" than the .308 Win 16" gun does - and I set them up indentically... Weird, I know. We'll see on the .358 Win 16" gun.
-
That (now to be delivered) 12" TRIM rail will go on the 16" .358 Win AR that I'm brewing up right now, with WC's barrel . Aero M5 receivers, BCG is already here, some Athlon 1~6 or 1~8 scope in mils (meals, in NC)... This one right here, in the Ranger profile... https://shopwilsoncombat.com/Match-Grade-Barrel-358-Winchester-Ranger-16-1-14-Twist-Stainless/productinfo/TR-358RAIG16RT14/

^^^ That's why I CeraKote my shiit, when I want it dirt-colored. Which Shorty - there are a bunch of them...
-
Their AR barrels are amazing. Pure perfection. I had a gas port sizing issue with my .260 Rem barrel, but I bought that thing as soon as they announced it. 0.070" gas port, needed to be 0.080". I punched it up - flawless operation, with any ammo I toss at it. That barrel from them now wears an 0.080" gas port diameter. They watch, and they listen. My other barrel from them is my 16" .338 Federal barrel, and that thing has been flawless from the get-go. They do FINE work. Next up from them for me is their 16" .358 Win barrel. That's happening. That's all about what this last order to them was about. Left to right: .243 Win, .260 Rem, .308 Win, .338 Fed, .358 Win: The .358 Win will complete those others that I already have - then I'll still need the 7mm-08... Wilson Combat makes that barrel, too...

BAM! Question answered. With authority, too.

Not true. However, you DEFINITELY can't call it an AR-10, because it's not, and there are mechanical differences. It IS a .308AR, though. Good try, though. ".308AR" doesn't have a single thing to do with Armalite, by the way, and they own no name in that fight. They DO own "AR-10" though. You can argue semantics all you want, but that's the entire, real, valid reason for this site in the first place - set it straight on .308ARs. Because there ARE differences. 3 major platforms, not to mention all the "custom billet" places that can't seem to get it right, and functional. PSA PA-10 is not an Armalite AR-10, it's not a DPMS LR-308, and it's not a Rock River LAR-8. Oh, and another pattern - It's not a Bushmaster BA-10 - which later became the RRA LAR-8... There ARE differences... Your PA-10 is out there in Proprietary Land, with alot of others. Some work, some don't... Some can be made to work, and some can't... Iron Ridge Arms comes to mind.
-
They're doing it - taking a barrel nut out of a DPMS 10", combining that with the Armalite AR-10 12" rail, and sending it to me.
-
Here's the best place to start, with that question: https://bfy.tw/PiJ5 So, research is what you need to do. Thanks for blasting this in 4 different places on this board - literally, the exact same thing, 4 times. Like that will shorted up the answer-time for you.
-
Looking forward to the range report, man.

45-70 is one of the most Demonic rounds ever created. It's Evil. I'm running 405gr silver-cast lead projectiles with a meager 50.0 grains of IMR 3031 through the RIFLE... and it's punishing to shoot. It's effective, but it really sucks to shoot, and it beats you up. And that load can go up to 55.0 grains of that powder... Yeah, fuk that. In a handgun? Fuk no. Y'all can have that one.
-
You fucker... I can't wait to see this one...
-
It's on my Aero M5 upper right now, brother. It works. They DID email me today. I pitched the proposal of "making" me a DPMS-threaded 12" rail. We'll see how that goes.
-
Alright, alright, alright... We gotta get to this and fix it. It's a nice gun, I get it. It's not an AR-10. Not even close. Simple reason - AR-10s are different, and AR-10s are only made by Armalite. You DON'T HAVE an AR-10. You don't even have a DPMS LR-308 patterned rifle right there - because PSA did whatever they wanted to do, and didn't follow ANY pattern. What you have is proprietary, only made by PSA and nobody else, and some parts interchange - and some don't. You certainly won't be able to mount up any old AR-10 (true) rail to that thing. Just putting that out there, and cutting this bad habit off. Not an AR-10. Not a DPMS-based LR-308, either. But it's definitely a .308AR.

Dried up, indeed - read below... So, that damn rail was "IN STOCK" when I pulled the trigger on it. Figured I'd check on my order tonight, since I haven't heard a PEEP from Wilson Combat about this order... So, I log in, check my recent orders... Here's the "contact us" message that I sent them... This rail was in stock according your website, when I ordered it. Figured I hadn't heard anything from you for shipping, so I logged in tonight to check what's going on... Rail discontinued, never gonna be delivered - but NO CONTACT from you guys at all?! Are you serious? You're not even going to reach out to me, and tell me there's a problem with my order? Zero email, zero phone call, nothing. Let's not forget that it was IN STOCK when I made this order. Crickets from you, on this. Make Wilson Combat better, even during COVID, and talk to your customers. Email me, and tell me what's going to happen with the rest of this order. I'd appreciate that - reaching out to the customer... Thanks for your time. I have a SIMPLE way for them to solve this, but I'll give them ONE DAY to contact me - they have my email, and my phone number, let's see what comes of this. IF they call or email, the simple answer is "This was in stock when I ordered it. Period. You have the "Armalite 12" rail in stock - and it's the same rail, but with a different barrel nut threading. You DO have the DPMS-based 10" rail IN STOCK. Here's what you do, Wilson Combat - you take that 12" Armalite RAIL, mate that fucker to a barrel nut from your 10" DPMS rail package - and I have the 12" rail that I ordered, that YOU said was in stock... Let's see how this plays out. Wilson Combat can redeem themselves... Or blow off the buyer.

Scrap that second one - no way that's working for a .308AR. That first link looks like a 3.250" buffer, but they don't list ANY buffer specs in their "tech" tab on there. So, there's no way to confirm. That's why CMMG sucks. Just run it through SB Tactical, save $30, don't worry about some shiit-CMMG parts that you have to save for later (buffer and spring), and run the buffer and spring I stated above. It'll end up looking like this - paint being what it is, I know...
-
Direct links of what you're looking at will help. Or, just find the direct kit from SB Tactical - it includes everything you're looking at, with a known 7.000" internal depth AR15 Carbine Receiver Extension, and it's $169. You'll still need the buffer and spring I recommended to run that on a .308AR. https://www.sb-tactical.com/product/sba3/
-
^^^ She's a one-woman band, right there. Completely badass.
-
Oh, I love that one...
-
The SBA3 is a great device - that CMMG receiver extension you talking about an AR15 Carbine Receiver Extension? Something 7.000" internal depth? If that's the case, go with the KAK Shorty buffer at 5.3oz, and use the Sprinco Orange spring.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2
98Z5V replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
I haven't shot one of those yet, but I'd love to. I have a couple Geissele adjustables and they're very damn nice, and they don't put out a product that's not perfected. I don't think you could go wrong with that trigger, brother. -
Go rip the Intro Section up, and tell us about yourself. Here's a link to it: https://forum.308ar.com/forum/22-introductions/
