"Hair Loss Syndrome?!!?" That's fucking MANGE!!! Now, it's a "syndrome..."
  2. You do it enough, and learn the techniques/science/math behind it, and you have a foundation to build on for future training. That's the goal of the Long Range event at the Fall Shoot - longer distance fundamentals. Learn the basics of distance. You''ll have wind to contend with, no matter what, out here. Ammo selection is key, as well as optics setup. You'll see for yourself, that 800 yards is child's play. This is also exactly why we're steering a separate event towards high angle shooting. It's WAY different when it's not a flat range. We had people that had never fired a bolt action rifle before, lay down behind a gun and plant a 660-yard 605-yard shot (last fall) centermass on an IPSC steel plate. First round. Because. MRAD + Nightforce.
  3. Yep. Right on the money.
  4. Planeflyer would love this one...
  5. Too bad Citizen's Armory went out of business, brother. They were in Tucson, and specialized in all the small parts. I miss that place.
  6. I REALLY like seeing where this is heading, too. The tactics they've used are being turned against them. I love the "sanctuary county" gun laws. I love the "drop them as being sponsored by us." Same thing the Libs have tried pulling for awhile now, and it's all coming back on them. Let's see how they like it.
  7. Here's a great writeup on it... https://deadspin.com/yadier-molina-undergoes-surgery-after-taking-fastball-t-1825808434
  8. It's a damn good thing that we already have a 600-yard zero on that MRAD. I'm just sayin'...
  9. Matt and I are getting our geek on, and computing shooting distances from the Long Range shot-location, to the distances. The easiest one we can pull is due west (shot angle of 274 degrees). We can go 1.22 miles, and still have a backstop that will prevent us from "going over..." IT. IS. ON. The MRAD will do it. The Win Mag will have trouble, at that distance. I don't think the Grendels have a chance, at 2,147 yards. FUK ME, the Win Mag isn't getting there, either. Not 2K yards. Ron, this is ALL UP TO YOU, BROTHER... Rob, if you bring your .338 Lapua out, that's another option. No one else can do this...
  10. Don't buy stainless hardware... No stainless set screws...
  11. I will never hesitate to tell someone - openly - that they need to drill up their gas port, when they've got a weakass gas system, and sluggish performance. No gas block in the world is gonna fix that symptom. Superlight buffers are only going to compromise - and complicate - the system, just to get it to function with a too-small gas port. Too often these days, any monkey in the business can get a barrel made, with a too-small gas port on it, and mass-sell it cheap. The people pumping out these cheap barrels don't understand what it takes - and they don't care. When "bigger is better" is the solution - it's really the solution. Yeah, recoil system needs to be considered, gas block, sure. That's exactly why I always tell everyone to build a functional weapon first (no fancy shiit), and make sure it works. After that, just go crazy and let your hair down, with all the fancy adjustable gasblocks and low-mass this and that, silent-captured whatever. Change one thing at a time, and function-test your weapon. If it still works, get freaky with your next adventure in making the baddest 308AR on the planet... Don't complicate shiit with complicated shiit. Build it simple, and make sure it works... Once you have a simple functional weapon, it'll usually work with whatever ammo you throw at it, or have the chance to pick up...
  12. Yep! We've been free and secure for quite awhile now! It never made huge news when it passed; not like this new stuff now, using the "sanctuary" term back against the Dems...
  13. I dug him up! Sent him some naked pictures of Drew, and he responded, cussing me out!
  14. Only if that slot is out of spec, on the upper receiver. The barrel index pin should fit tight into it's slot in the upper. It should be tight enough that you almost have to use the barrel nut to fully bottom the index pin in the slot (preferrable method, using the barrel nut, over pounding the barrel into the upper).
  15. We just need some lava, brother...
  16. It was, until PA was blowing that Matrix set out at $160! It's back to the regular price of $240 now... So, I've been thinking. I gotta get a .260 Remington done before the Fall Shoot. It'll most probably be done on the AP M5 set, because they're just so damn good. But, what would do the .260 Rem the justice it deserves?... THIS would... http://aeroprecisionusa.com/ap/aso-m5-limited-edition/
  17. Geissele Reaction Rod for the 308s. No upper vise blocks needed. That'll hold the upper. Need some details on the pin distance for the PSA PA-10 standard barrel nut. Need that info to determine what wrench you'll need to get that barrel nut off. Need the distance between two holes, 180 degrees apart. A suitable deposit for the 308 Reaction Rod would be, well, $200. https://geissele.com/ar10-sr25-reaction-rod.html

    MUGSHOT MONDAY

I've been slacking. I don't know who she is, or what she did, but I'm sure you guys can find out...
  20. That would be some scary shiit out here in the desert...
  21. More info on your stove pipe. Pics of the specific malfunction would be greatly helpful. Also, newly manufactured from the factory, like in a few months past... New to you but purchased used and 5 years old... New, like you just got a bunch of parts and built it... Was a complete rifle, but now you added xx part to it and it's having issues. Need more to work with here.
  22. Hit it now, brother - I fixed it. http://gunwars.news21.com/2014/eight-states-have-passed-laws-voiding-federal-firearms-regulations/
  23. NO MORE DICK'S!!! NSSF kicks out Dick's. https://www.nssf.org/nssf-expels-dicks-sporting-goods/
  24. Check this out - and check your state in the graphic contained in the article... http://gunwars.news21.com/2014/eight-states-have-passed-laws-voiding-federal-firearms-regulations/
  25. That should be quite sufficient. On the long range event, I'd honestly be surprised if you go through 100 rounds. No kidding.
