  1. Got the barrel and the RCBS 3-die set ordered today. My gun pusher is feeling sorry for me, I can tell. My price on the barrel is $185 and the die set will set me back $67. That's a pretty damn good deal with regular price on the barrel being $230 and the dies going for $87.

    Good cops

    Riggins was a badass...
  3. I hope he bankrupts that company, if that's even possible. Get rid of it altogether. Make more room in the marketplace for a company that doesn't treat customers like this. I know, I know, isolated incident and all that... Behavior like this is a "Once is too many times" incident.
  4. Just the speed of the bullet, as it cuts it's way through the air - it's the friction that's melting poly tips. Gotta be bad near you, with that thicka$s humid ocean air all the time... I don't have to worry about it so much out here...
  5. I haven't been worrying about this with the 178 HPBT Match projos, as they don't have a polymer tip. However, this is something to definitely consider for those that shoot other poly-tipped projos... The hunting version of this same bullet...

He's the fucking Terminator, except his eyes are real...
  13. I WISH... My wit was a little faster, because NOW I know the perfect answer for Alpha-Chick's first quesion when they rolled up... "What y'all crazy fuckers doin' out here partyin' in the Desert?!... " I WISH... my response would have been... "We JUST got done shooting ALL the targets we had out there at 435 yards, just a minute ago. That's a QUARTER OF A FUCKING MILE AWAY! We didn't miss ONE of them, AT NIGHT. How the fuk ARE YOU?..." I need to work on my wit.
  14. Cedric, brother!
  15. Some notes on that thing, and putting it on your .308AR... It's lighter, stronger, and cheaper than the original UBR, BUT... It has a different receiver extension that it's made for. That's really it's big deal. It's VLTOR A5-lengthed extension, which is Armalite AR-10 Carbine-lengthed extension. That extension has an internal depth of 7 5/8", versus the original UBR and it's included special extension, at 7" internal depth. Which is GOOD! BEST way to run a collapsible-stocked .308AR, in my worthless opinion. For you to run it on your .308AR, you need to do a few things with it: REMOVE the included Buffer Spacer that comes with it - you cannot - CANNOT - use that with your Big AR. Definitely use the only buffer spring that's really made for this setup - the Armalite EA1095 AR-10 Carbine buffer spring. That little dandy is available at DSG Arms, and other places. I get mine from DSG when I need them. For buffers, make damn sure you use (at least) an AR15 H3 buffer. Yes, AR15 buffer. H3-weighted at the lightest. Get one anywhere, they're all the same for the most part. Might as well toss it in the cart at DSG, when you snatch up the spring. You will love the UBR - I only have one of them, on a 5.56 gun, but I love the thing.
  16. The situation went the very best way it could have - when they saw that they just rolled up on us, unwelcomed, and fuckin' spotlighting us, they immediately began the Turn-Around Drill and got the fuk out of there, thus activating their Escape & Evasion Protocol (E&E Plan). That's the best thing that they decided all night. The WORST thing that they could have done, thankfully didn't happen. In my mind, the worst possible rapid-decisions that they could have made were to feel tough, all jacked up on liquid courage, and all get out at the same time, and try to force us "to hang out with them." Right off the bat, that one-eyed Ford truck would have had a BUNCH of leaks. Immediately. That was Step 1. I doubt it would have gone beyond that.
  17. MOE +, or would MOE K2+ work? FDE.
  18. I've been waiting to see a build from this AP set - gonna be nice!
  19. Damn, can't be minor. Explosion in a mixing facility. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/04/11/one-dead-3-injured-at-army-ammunition-plant-in-missouri.html
  20. Right when they came to a stop, I press-checked the momentary switch on the SureFire on the rail... That got their attention - at least the ones that were able to focus, anyway... I remember them asking a couple questions... and the only thing I could think of to say, at the time, was, "Can I HELP you with something?!..." What I really meant by the rhetorical question was, "I'm gonna HELP you get the fuk outta my camp..." They understood, and Alpha-Female was composing their departure rapidly...
  21. This look to be the Big Brother of the 5.56 Costa Ludus Edition, and it looks SWEET! http://www.larue.com/predatar-762-16-heavy-barrel-fde?mc_cid=fc38ebb255&mc_eid=bd9d7dbc01 By popular demand, we've made the 2nd release of last year's Limited-Edition 7.62 "Heavy-Barreled" PredatAR, in FDE. The first 125 units (match-numbered on the upper and lower) sold at high noon on New Year's Day 2016 in 4 minutes flat. For those of you who know the "Costa Edition" 5.56 Rifle, this 7.62 offering closely follows the same configuration. It beautifully combines the popular and lightweight PredatAR chassis with our 16" heavy LaRue Barrel. If you have a Costa and want a matching serial number, let us know ... we are trying to accommodate. Each Upper Receiver, Lower Receiver, and Handguard is finished in FDE. Selected black components and black GAP rail covers provide dramatic contrast. The 2nd release comprises Serial numbers 126 - 499. Please pardon my reach, but the 500th one is mine. This will go hot at high noon Central Time Wednesday April 12th . Go take a look now, kick the tires, even if you are not interested, as that will leave bandwidth for those that are to crowd in and make their buy on Wednesday. If you are wondering about LaRue accuracy, the 1st place finishers at the USASOC 2017 Military Sniper Competition won 2 weeks ago with a pair of LaRue rifles. That makes two years in a row LaRue rifles took 1st Place. For those ordering a rifle, there will be a follow-on post-sale offering of great accessories, at great prices.
