Repeated reloading and use is what will work harden the brass, and at that point if you don't anneal, you will split brass. Annealing takes the work hardening out, and extends the life of it. Simply expanding it won't work harden it.

I'm personally running the Elftmann AR15 Match trigger in my 16" 308AR, and I've never, ever, not even once, had an issue with it. Every single time I pulled that AR15 Match trigger, my 308AR went bang. Every time. I'm just sayin'...

DNP was part of this one... Had a couple Midwest Brothers come out to the dunes for T-Day 2006 or 2007. They got addicted. They returned a few years later, like 2009 or something. They proceed to apprehend the dude, and that didn't work, so they elicit the help of the rent-a-cops at the airport. THAT didn't work. They were almost booked. Needless to say, they didn't fukkin GET TO YUMA on time, missed several flights - because,what the hell,we can't make THIS connection, so let's drink! Make one connection, delayed, rescheduled, whatever, but get to the NEXT one late... Overall, I think they were gonna be out there in the sand with us for something like 5 days, and they were only out there for 2 days. It was something like that... Dogtags don't have a chip in them, but Rangers wear Glint tape. Gunships paint the engagement area with an infrared spotlight, and the Glint tape shines bright as fukk in the gunner's targeting camera, individually - and he doesn't shoot the bright spots. Needed to get that part out - because dogtags don't have chips in them, and targeting isn't done on dogtags. Sorry, brother. A 1"x1" square of Glint tape makes you safe. Sew it into the top of your patrol cap, onto the upper portion of a uniform top sleeve, whatever makes you feel that the gunship will see you. That's why all the cool-guy tactical baseball hats have velcro on the top of them - to attach your Glint tape.

This is gonna work out great, at 23.1 grains of RL-7. I want to hunt with this out to 400 yards, so I wanted less than 4 mils of drop out to 450 yards. This load will give me that. The accuracy is there, the speed is there, and the energy is definitely there. Once I get it out to distance, and verify the mil drop at the different ranges, I'll know if the calculated velocity is correct - and if it's not, I'll be able to calculate the actual velocity based on the mil drop to exact distances... Didn't have a single issue with primers, so I can go up on the charges a little more, and keep testing. I don't think I need to, after I run the numbers on the 23.1 grain charge, though. I'm probably keeping that charge weight for this projectile.

Here are the targets - Interesting to see how little difference there is in powder, and the differences at 100 yards. Well, besides me straight fukking a few of them up. This thing is finicky on charge weight differences. You can see it coming into a node on Groups 6, 7, 8, and 9, then open back up on Group 10...

That woulda been cool, brother. I got in there, did my business, and got out. So, I slapped a 1~4 scope on there, but thought better of it before I took off, so I swiped a Bushnell 3~9 off another rifle and used it instead. I had 10 charge weights to shoot, and this scope came off another rifle and is not zero'd for this gun. I put 11 targets out there. 10 for the charge weight differences, and one for a scope check - I loaded 3 extra rounds at the lowest charge weight, and those first 3 rounds out of the rifle went into that scope check target at 50 yards, just to see where I'm at. It was 4" low and 4" right, I knew it would be more at 100 yards, so I appropriately held on the test targets to make sure the holes went into the correct target - didn't care where they landed, just that they landed on the correct target. The 4~16 was their earlier stuff, and I can personally tell you that their newer 4~14 scopes are badass,for what you're paying. They'd still be badass at 3 times the price. When you run that optic, think about that.
