I think this comment is... well, it's something. I know of this law, and don't agree with it. I will say this, though - the morning of 9-11-01, that $hit went down right before our morning PT formation. PT was immediately cancelled, all off-post personnel sent directly home to grab all their $hit and return directly - and we shut all gates to the compound and placed armed guards at all possible entrances. If you weren't assigned there, or a family member, you were NOT getting in. Fuk everyone else - you have no business here. Move the fuk out, see-ya, bye. We locked down a fenced-in compound ON a military installation with armed motherfuckers and a metric $hit-ton of live ammo and hardened gun trucks, at all locations. We never "got fined" or had $hit said to us about it. Some higher-ranking motherfuckers were turned away, and given a phone number to call if they felt different about it. Nothing ever came of it - and apparently, it wasn't "lawful" to do that... <dontknow>

Pics will be mandatory, brother. <thumbsup> :happydrunks:

^^^ I'm feelin' it. I'm not a fan of what AP is putting together for a recoil system, and I've stated the reasons. I switched mine over to the Armalite AR10 carbine receiver extension, EA1095 spring, and AR10 carbine buffer (which is an AR15 carbine H3 buffer). Much mo' betta operation. Folks, don't buy the AP carbine recoil system for this rifle until they get it figured out. I know they say they've had no complaints, but you have to consider the audience. They'll hear about it sooner of later, and sort it out. Until then, run the Armalite AR10 carbine recoil system on these things. <thumbsup>

New/Upgraded M4A1 for the Military
98Z5V replied to NTXshooter's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
Still happens - I had two civilian armorers in the SF Group that could handle anything you threw at them. They were major-factory certified armorers, and even handled factory warranty issues for Remington and Winchester in the geographic area. If you had a rifle warranty issue from those factories, and lived closer to them than the factory, it was sent to them to handle. Bad sum'bitches. :hail: -
Hell of a catch! Brother, you're smiling SO DAMN BIG that your eyes look like Shibi's! <lmao>

Next time we shoot, I will MAKE SURE to grab a vid. I'm sure there's already one out there, from the shoots we've done - somebody shooting a rifle, and cussing because they're hit with his 10mil brass, and he's nowhere in the video... <lmao>
-
^^^ Exactly - he loads those 10s as hot as he can, so it's a double-weapon. He trains to land the bullet right on point of impact, and can still take out targets to his right, with speeding brass, 30 yards away... <lmao>

No Gen 2 for the 308 mags. The first series of LR20 Pmags were actually using the 5.56 Gen 2 tech - 5.56 Gen 1 Pmags had some issues in some rifles. LR20 introduction incorporated what the Gen 2 5.56 mags improved on already. They just didn't call the LR20 a Gen 2 mag, because it was a brand new introduction. After the 5.56 was upgraded with the Gen 3 improvements, they moved those improvements over to the LR mags.

My BCG gets here Monday. <thumbsup>

Yes, lock time would be reduced.. And would it work? Maybe No. Because of Mass... Mass in motion. How much does a standard hammer weigh, and how much does a Titanium hammer weigh? That needs to be known, very first. If you have a steel 3-ounce hammer being energized by that hammer spring, what is the final energy of that mass-in-motion at the end of it's travel, when it impacts the firing pin? For $hits, lets call it 30-lb/ft of energy. Grab up a high-speed combat-fighting super-badass Titanium superhammer that weighs 0.5oz, and guarantees faster lock time. Proven, it'll lock faster, with the same spring - physics says it has to. However, that faster hammer weighs 2.5oz less than the stock hammer, and it only imparts 5-lb/ft of energy on the firing pin, and leaves you with misfires because of that. How's that hammer speed working for you now?... It's a balance, man, and more than that, it's a science - faster lock time might not be all that, if it imparts less energy, to the level that it's not reliable. What you're talking about is Golf. You can swing a lighter 3-Iron faster than you can swing a 9-Iron. Is that lighter 3-Iron gonna knock the ball further, or is the 9-Iron gonna knock the ball further?... Mass in motion... you need to balance it. There's no shortcut.

Grab it from D.Wilson Mfg, brother. <thumbsup>

4 to me is the cost of the mags. Period. I'll figure out how to pin them at 10. Let's play, and experiment - the cost is nothing, minus materials, brother - you should know that. <thumbsup>

The Noveske Leonidas was released years ago. Many years ago. <thumbsup> Everybody thought John Noveske was crazy for doing it, then - but that thing fuckin' ran, and ran well. He was a visionary, and he NAILED IT. :hail: That's the whole reason R2 is trying to copy that original .308 Carbine...

Nope, not in O-HI-O. Growing up as a kid there, it was Bow Season, and Shotgun Season. Only. Rifles were never legal for deer. All this new "straight wall cartridge" stuff is new. Bow or shotgun is the history - if you wanted to rifle hunt, you went to neighboring state...
-
I jacked the topic - now it's about short .308ARs.

Despite some of the problems with the POF rifles not-too-often, that's what I usually hear about from POF. I've heard that there are more problems from the Hogans, and Hogan owners don't receive that same kind of response or treatment. Good stuff, man - good path to follow. You did it well. <thumbsup>

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2
98Z5V replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
^^^ Same here - i grabbed two of them. can't find a blem anywhere on them. Good looking brake, too, and can't beat $15 each. -
Two words dispute that, though... Noveske. Leonidas.
-
It'll disappoint you, and do the exact same thing as the 16" - you can't make it miss. <thumbsup>

Nope, but somewhere I've seen templates to cut them to 10, 15, and 20-round mags. I'll see if I can find the info again. https://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=3&f=15&t=319597 https://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=3&f=15&t=398334 http://www.cncguns.com/forum/index.php?topic=1360.0 http://www.gripsandknives.com/Military_Pattern_10_round_M3_Grease_Gun_Magazine_p/ggmag10.htm

Here's about the only discussion we've had on it: I want to say there was a topic about loading subsonic .308 Win in the reloading section a few months back, but I couldn't find it just now. It might have had a funky thread title, though. I remember a guy coming in and asking about .308 Win sub loads, and nobody responded for a few days, and he ended up getting kinda mad about that. Nobody here shoots sub .308 Win (I don't think), and there's not that much experience with it, so there's not much info here on it.

That is a deal, and a damn great price. I think regular price on them is $25 from this vendor. KeepShooting makes some damn great M3 Grease Gun mags - buy with confidence. <thumbsup> EDIT - Eff, I like these things so much, I just bought 4 more.
