Yep, this is how it all went down... Had a buddy call me last night when I was on the way home from work. He lives in Oklahoma. He was in Sedona, AZ, and on his way to Yuma, AZ, to pick up a bunch of equipment for work. Turn-N-Burn run. He said he'd hit my place around noon today, and asked if it was okay to stop - hadn't seen him since 2009 or so. HELL YEAH, it's okay to stop!!! :hethan: He calls me when he's about 5 miles from town, and says, "Hey, forgot to mention, I've got another guy from work with me - is that okay? He's a retired SEAL..." Hehehe - Hell Yeah, it's STILL okay, brother!!! Real quick-like, I had to change t-shirts, before they arrived... I decided to pick THIS one to wear, for their arrival... :banana: My buddy and his cohort get here, he comes in and I give him a BIGASS Pants Down hug - kinda freaked the other guy out. He sees my shirt and says, "Really?!..." and laughed his ass off... I says, "Yep, it's gotta be that way..." <laughs> INSTANT Male Bonding... <lmao> I fired up the grill, blazed some bratwurst, laid out the home-brewed spinach-artichoke dip, and we shot the shiit for awhile - then the conversation turned... to guns... Well, THAT got interesting, and all kinds of stuff started getting pulled out. That convo went on for awhile, lead to other crazy dangerous shiit, the motorcycles came up. That led to the CR500, in the storyline. So, we progress out back, and the 500 gets dug out of it's dedicated storage facility - I meant to get it out today anyway, and work on the carb. We talked for another long while, and their boss calls - apparently, there was another crew out on the road, they were 1 of 2 driving crews, getting and hauling gear. The other crew was already in Yuma, and was worried because they had no signs of these guys... Other crew calls the boss, boss calls them, and they say they're "still on the way..." So, they had to leave. GREAT visit, and I have a new friend and saw my old friend. So, anyway, they take off, and I get to work on the 500. Minor stuff, but I got it all done - and left it out. Now, out of nowhere, I FINALLY get me some fuckin' Monsoon Season here, that I've been begging for.Shiit just starts immediately, and it's a fuckin' downpour here. There was no way I was getting the 500 back to it's dedicated storage facility, and the next best thing to do was... It gets to sleep inside tonight... :yup:

Take apart the buffer, remove one weight, insert a 1/2" diameter plastic spacer of equal length. Run it and see if that works. That's gonna tell you if it's the buffer weight - which is a gas port diameter issue with a standard-weight buffer. It's a shortcut, but a good test.

When it won't lock back, it's usually because the buffer is too heavy - BCG gets enough travel to eject a spend piece of brass, but not far enough to hit the catch. If you're using a standard buffer, and not a heavier buffer, then it's a gas issue - your gas port on the barrel is too small, usually.

Lighted to heaviest, in the Geissele Hi-Speed lineup is: Match, DMR, Service. Lighter pull on the Match over the DMR gives you the advantage of... lighter pull. That's it. Have you used one of the Geissele Hi-Speed triggers before? If not, I'd suggest the DMR first. It's adjustment range, overall, can go into the upper pull-weight ranges of the Match, and into the lighter pull-weight ranges of the Service. If you adjust into the minimum pull-weight of it (into the upper ranges of the Match), and find that you don't like triggers that light, you can change it. You can only take the pull-weight of the Match up to a certain extent, and if it's still to light for you, you'll be trying to sell an expensive trigger. There is no downside to any Geissele trigger. My $0.02.

Integral suppressor - suppressed was the only way to get it. One day, I'll have one, but it won't be from the two manufacturers that currently make it. There's another company out there working on it, designed from an original, exact in every way.

Who built the rifle? Sounds like one of two things here - buffer weight, or gas system issues. Look at the gas system closely, first.

I didn't have the need to file down my Armalite NM trigger - just the suggested spring tweaks in the Tech Note had it sitting VERY nice. I love the trigger, and it's in my 16" 300BLK rifle.

Just have them swap you - trade the buffers. We can fix this here, with enough information, and you'll be happy that you converted your own rifle recoil system. <thumbsup>

There's a difference between: 1. Gunsmith. 2. AR Gunsmith. 3. 308AR Gunsmith. You'll need to find a good 308AR Gunsmith, if you send the work out. It makes a difference. They re-used the carbine action spring in the rifle system - big no-go, to an extent. They probably also used an AR15 rifle buffer in there, and it's gonna be too long. You certainly need a specific rifle buffer for the 308AR setup. AR15 on top, Armalite AR10 on bottom - DPMS LR308 Rifle system will have the same length as the AR10 buffer. ^^^ that picture literally shows you the difference in length between an AR15 bolt carrier and the AR10 bolt carrier - which both have to fit into the same rifle receiver extension. AR10 has a longer bolt carrier, so it must use a shorter buffer, in order to work inside the same-length rifle receiver extension for both platforms.
