Hi y'all!

New member from South GA. Been lurking on these boards awhile getting ideas. No stranger to ARs, built plenty in 5.56, and I'm an armorer at work. Put together my first .308 last night after years of talking about it and getting parts. So my first question is, how many of you have put together a 308 bcg and had the gas rings super tight? Once inserted the bolt freely spins no matter how deep it's in, but it is very hard to push in or pull out of the carrier. I know it's the rings and I cycled it by hand maybe fifty times but it's still super tight. I'm guessing some shooting might help out but I've never had one of my 5.56s this hard to cycle. Thanks.

You answered your own ? But only did one part of a two part ? Welcome nick and I'm glad you came up as... I've done my research here and have a new good ? Might start off with the parts list on the bolt and rings? An experienced answer is sure to follow.

Thanks sketch. Well let's see, Vortex flash hider, DPMS SASS barrel, DPMS complete bolt, Red X Arms phosphate carrier with chrome bore, DPMS gas key and bcg repair kit to finish it out, BCM Gunfighter charging handle, Aero Precision upper and lower, CMMG lower parts kit, Phase 5 Tactical BAD lever, extended mag release, DPMS rifle buffer, spring, and tube, Magpul PRS stock (OD green), Magpul MOE+ pistol grip (OD green), Midwest Industries 12" MLok handguard, and some 20rd PMAGs. Still a few things left to get but it is a functioning rifle now. In a decent Plano All Weather case (Pelican knock off).
