Matt.Cross Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Right now I don't have the luxury of accessible machine tools or I would.....
308reloaded Posted March 10, 2011 Author Report Posted March 10, 2011 most of mine are mad on drill press with good cross sliding vise. but will admit if I can use machines at work I do.
imschur Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Well not specifically for 308 but I made a SCOPE RING ALIGNMENT LAP based on this by Brownells and Sinclair
308reloaded Posted March 10, 2011 Author Report Posted March 10, 2011 very nice. would like to have some of that material. the link for this did not work for me. link THOMSON SHAFTING shows under construction
imschur Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 The links are highlighted on the page. Edit Industrial supply houses MSC, Mcmaster Carr also have it.
308reloaded Posted March 10, 2011 Author Report Posted March 10, 2011 I deal with both of McMaster Carr and MSC. get so much email from MSC it not funny, but don't want to cancel .bad news is wrench wont go on barrel nut (yet) I knew better than to weld without barrel nut as guide. will repair or redo tomorrow. a challenge that I am up to. I deserve this as I was rushing things along instead of taking my time. photo is as it sits right now, 3/8 sq. hole not in yet and I will need to remove 2 pins
98Z5V Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 very nice. would like to have some of that shaft material.DEFINITELY not something you'd say publicly amongst this group... <lmao> <laughs> <munch>

survivalshop Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 I made a very crude FF hand guard socket ,when they first came out & when I get time I will take a photo of it. No strap wrenches for me , this worked on a great number of rifles back twenty five years ago.
hobbesgunner Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Think he's ignoring you guys ....or the light bulb hasn't come on yet ::)
308reloaded Posted March 12, 2011 Author Report Posted March 12, 2011 I have the new version of the FFT and barrel nut wrench, in the process of making a strap wrench to tighten the FFT, . it is crude cheap and fits has 1/2 drive socket welded on other side.
