beachmaster
I have been interested in an adjustable gas block for a really long time, and this pof version really catches my eye. What is the consensus with those "the the know"? http://pof-usa.com/shop/gas-blocks/dictator-adjustable-gas-block/?mc_cid=64f768efb1&mc_eid=4a18fd4c0c
jtallen83
If I were using on a select fire weapon maybe I'd pay the extra otherwise I really like the SLR adjustable. They don't give any dimensions needed to know if a slim handguard would fit the straight gas tube design, also no details on what holds the adjustment in place. It appears this design would have to be exposed versus hidden underneath the guard.
beachmaster
I don't think that it would have to be exposed if you used a screw driver, BUT audible and tactile clicks would be good, and I dint see anything about them.
Dane Armory
This is a nicer version of a adjust gas block we proto typed for another company in the valley 3 years ago, the difference is this one has 9 position clicks. Very nice !
planeflyer21
It would seem that with 9 positions, you could very well fine tune for a particular load.

survivalshop
Has any one here burnt up a std Gas Tube , not talking about the Videos where they go out of their way to burn up or blow up an AR . The straight Tube , does make some sense if you are worried about the slight bends as a restriction , but who has had an issue with that ? I can see the use of an adj. Gas Block for using a suppressor , but for anything else , one is not needed . Far too many rifles out there working flawlessly with std DI system for a need of one . Hey, if you have the $$ burning a hole in your pocket & want one , go for it & don't forget a review here .
blue109
My father in laws A1 colt from the late 70s still has the original gas tube. Can't imagine a semi auto ever burning one out.
Dane Armory
Burnt up two aluminum gas block and tube directly above gas port hole. Ar15 pistol running .223 one one gun with a 8.5" barrel. Steel gas block solved that problem.

Sounds like excessive Gas Port size , damn pistol should be a small hole , thats a lot of pressure , right there .
jtallen83
Looks like Brownell's has some more details in their description; http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/gas-system-parts/gas-blocks/ar-15-m16-dictator-adjustable-gas-blocks-prod81649.aspx
beachmaster
Good eye JTallen! It looks cool, but for someone counting pennies... could be money better spent elsewhere.

Hey, if you have the $$ burning a hole in your pocket & want one , go for it & don't forget a review here . I was a small arms repairman for most of my 20 years in the military, and I can tell you we NEVER replaced gas tubes unless they had been damaged in such a way as the flow was restricted. We would take fine krocus cloth and polish the carbon off the gas block end before re-installing on a re-barrel job, but that's it. The one place we DID find carbon issues with on high round count training rifles was on the bolt carrier. We'd pull the carrier key and punch the carbon out of the port on the top of the carrier. But tubes, I seriously cannot remember ever replacing one for any reason other than a dumb troop dropping his upper just right and putting a kink in the tube.
