This article they use a Flat wire spring , (Tubb's ) for the rifle to work correctly with the 260 Rem. with the Powder you are using . When you drill out the Gas Port , you should use an Adj. Gas Block as has been said .

if you have not shot Factory ammo from this rifle , which DPMS has it set up for , I would be reluctant about drilling the Port out , if its not necessary , where a Buffer Spring change is all that is needed & I have a couple of the Tube's Flat Springs & they work great . A lot less work & expense http://www.davidtubb.com/ar10-tubb-parts/bufferspring-sr-ar10

With a .089 drill in hand, I drilled the gas port bigger and installed the adj gas block.

The rifle cycles fine and locks to the rear all the time regardless of the stiffer powder charge. Was able to adj the gas down to where it wouldn''t lock to the rear than open back up one click and it lock to the rear.

Shot a respectable 3/4 and 1/2 inch group with a 142g MK, 41.5 of H4350 at mag length.

Thanks for the help.
