Identify this cichlid?

Hello fellow hobbiest,

 

My friend needs help finding out which kind of cichlid this is. he's having trouble with  with being a ultra bully. any help would be appricated.

I believe that Cichlid is a fish, but I could be wrong. (sorry Ed, I don't know crap about aquarium fish, but I couldn't resist.)

Does  he just have one of these guys? I bet I could use one as bait for big old stripe bass.  And see which one puts the bite on the other.

That can be an issue with cichlids of different tribes.  One always wants to rule the roost.

Has your buddy tried letting the other fish know they have safe spaces?  Maybe he can get them some of the fun-colored dough bait, for when they get triggered.

His tank doesn't look like it has many hiding places after doing some research I told him that he has to have his tank a little bit overpopulated that way not one single cichlid gets singled out

 

Also I told him that he needs to get a couple more that are about the same size as that one that way they don't get bullied. even though they cost more that big

True.  My buddy had a badass saltwater tank, which he stocked with all small, affordable fish.

It doesn't take a real long time to get big fish from small fish.  People would be in awe of what he had living together.

Looks like a yellow lab but idk 100% never really got into African chiclids. Could be a mutt tho too that happens often with Africans. Fish are just life any other life forum they all have their own personality, I've had fish that were suppose to be mean as hell and there were and vise-versa.

A good fish with a gun will straighten things out....just sayin.
