Trumpet
So, I understand that Armalite and AR308 (DPMS) aren't completely compatible. However, are the receiver extensions/buffers/springs? I need to get a buffer/tube/spring for my Aero build, and there's some makes out there I know nothing of, however Armalite is a known quality. They are not interchangeable within the group of receiver extensions/buffers/springs but as a whole kit/unit either brand will work with your Aero. No mixing an Armalite buffer with a DPMS tube etc. You can't go wrong with the Armalite kit, except it is out of stock right now........... https://armalite.com/shop/ar-10-collapsing-buttstock-kit-black/
D.R.D.
Uh, maybe others can chime in here, but are you sure that's correct? I've seen DPMS pattern / Vltor receiver extension tubes run with Armalite H3 Buffer and Spring.
washguy
DRD here's what you need I take it you are gonna use a car buttstock? an ar15 milspec buffer tube 7 inches inside length...DPMS car308 buffer spring...or a Tubbs buffer spring ...you cant go wrong with Tubbs...same spring for ar308 rifle or carbine....and a good ol DPMS ar308 buffer...if you feel the need to tune then you can start playing with heavier buffers Wash https://www.kakindustry.com/lr308-carbine-buffer-heavy nice heavy for half the price https://www.kakindustry.com/ar-15-parts/lower-parts/kak-ar15-carbine-buffer-tube https://www.kakindustry.com/lr-308-parts/308-lower-parts/lr308-carbine-buffer plain ol 308 car buffer https://www.kakindustry.com/lr308-carbine-buffer-spring plain ol 308 car spring don't forget the back plate and castle nut Edited December 30, 2016 by washguy

I had always understood the Vltor tube to be the same length as the Armalite, not the DPMS, pretty sure that info is here somewhere? I may be reading it wrong though? Tony b
I bought the armalite a2 stock, buffer tube, buffer, and spring kit for my aero upper lower and I did not work for me, the tube and spring were both wrong, and didn't allow the bolt to open all the way. It is available to buy if you are interested though lol.

Trumpet
I was looking at the set from Guntec at Optics Planet. Anyone know anything about them?
Trumpet
Also, FYI I'm talking about rifle extensions, not carbine. Mounting a Luth MBA-
unforgiven
Sounds like you could use brother Tony's parts them since you are not running a Car setup. I changed my Aero Car setup for the one from Armalite and my M5 ran without issue. Just my 2 mags. Waldo
Fishing for info / direction on tuning my second ever build. I have an 80% arms lower, using a CMMG .308 lower parts build kit, Palmetto State Armory upper, Radical firearms complete Nickel Boron coated BCG, PSA charging handle, Ergo F-93 buttstock,80% Arms complete .308/ AR-10 Buffer tube kit. Initially, the upper and lower wouldnt close to allow the breakdown pin to be installed. Found upon inspection that the bottom of the charging handle was impacting the lower on top of the ring where the buffer tube screws in to the lower. Very minimal material removed from the lower at the top of that ring allowed the breakdown pin to seat correctly. Now I am experiencing a condition that sometimes the charging handle is EXTREMELY difficult to pull back or impossible to pull back. I thought as described above the handle was being interfered with by the lower, but that isnt the case, thought the bolt when closed was friction fitting very tight but it opens and seats easily when opened up by removing the break down pin. I'm wondering if the BCG isnt somehow interfering/ catching and not mating up with the buffer / buffer tube? when this occurs, wiggling the rifle, turning it over seems to "clear" the obstruction. IDK, Any help or ideas are very much appreciated.
survivalshop
Too many issues with PSA components not working with other manufactures Components , seems Tolerance stacking because they seem to be Proprietary . PSA Upper & Lowers seem to work with each other , now they have a second Generation that just came out , just to muddy the waters even more , so its a toss up . If you know someone who has a DPMS Upper , try it as a complete Upper Receiver assembly & see how that works out . Also The 80% Receivers could be the issue also , for the same Proprietary reasoning .
