YWHIC
Well I was browsing online and saw a bunch of different camo type ideas for AR's..So I bought some Aervoe Paint in basically Desert USMC Marpat colors..I got Aervoe Urban Tan, Light Coyote Tan, Highland, Field Drab, Light Tan.. and I bought locally 1 can of Krylon 'Olive' CAMO.. I also have cans of primer white and fla black if needed..Here is a pic with Urban Tan as a base, and just Coyote for the overlay..I used some mesh material and some fake FERNs..This was my crappy attempt at Digi.. but I have 0 patience.. on my old Red Ryder BB gun.. (I do realize I have to use MULTIPLE layers for the proper effect)..Think I am going to stick with plant and simple mesh on this..Stay tuned.. Robocop1051
Anyone know a good source to send a part in for DuraCoat? I just want my handguard painted, but everyone I talk to wants $150?!?!? Is it really that expensive? I'm trying one more local source tomorrow.

98Z5V
Looks good, man - nice job. <thumbsup>I've probably put 1k through one of my 5.56 guns since I painted it, and it's been holding up just fine. I've got before pics when I first sprayed it, but I haven't updated anything since. I'll try to do a before and after comparo and put it up here. Krylon Khaki worked well. YWHIC
Here are the final pics..the Field Drab 'brown' is not dark nor shiny.. its the flash and the camera angle..[img width=810 height=607]http://www.executiveprotectionservice.us/forums/RIGHTFINAL.jpgI wanted a 'muted' setting with a touch of foliage and some Olive under a dust coating.. and I threw in some mesh net here and there.. RayGun19
Nice. Was there a reason you picked primarily gray and brown?I've been thinking about doing this on my AR and my Remmy. I guess I shouldn't care, but since they're MINE and not Uncle Sams I, for some reason, have reservations about doing it. I have the paint though........ YWHIC
I went with primary of Light Tan.. then dabbed some OD and some Field Drab (aka brownish).. then did some Urban Tan (which is I guess gray-ish).. then finished with some Light Coyote Tan..I figured the LEAF patterns would break it up a little bit..I have 11 acres in West TX so I think TAN and BROWN's would be more prominant then alot of O'Drab (aka green) colors..just finished the four 20 round MagPul LR20 Mags matching the theme.. YWHIC
Here is the final with Mags in place and outside.. <thumbsup>again.. The Field Drab Brown is not Dark.. its just the angle..
