blue109
F35s are playing around over my work right now. I have a feeling this one will last more than 4 hours.
planeflyer21
Just talked to my brother. He said the same thing, F-35 doing some very impressive maneuvering.
blue109
Must be an air show coming up because some WW2 stuff was flying around and then the A10s came out to play. I'm on a half day today so I decided to wash trucks in the motor pool....AKA watch cool airplanes lol. The F35s were mind blowing. Absolutely gorgeous. Thing went straight up in the air spinning slowly on its tail like a ballerina until it was just a dot, and then just seemed to float back to earth thrust vectoring the whole way. Looked like a feather swaying back and forth. Then out of nowhere hit the throttle a few hundred feet up and corkscrewed away at insane speed. The sound almost flattened me. Car alarms honking for miles. Then he came back at a slow crawl, vectoring at about a 45° nose-up angle and swinging/twisting the cockpit left and right while keeping the jet moving straight...Like he was looking for targets or something. I like seeing jets go fast, but it's amazing how slow that thing can move. Breathtaking to watch that monster do its thing. I was just reading about the new Abrams upgrade as well. The SEP V.3. nobody on the planet is anywhere near our combat power. Such a shame our leadership has allowed us to take a knee to the globalists and our libtard masses applaud them for it. blue109
Someone just told me there's some sort of armed forces appreciation thing this weekend with old tech and new stuff flying together. An A10 is chasing something that looks like Jon's avatar right now. So cool all day.

planeflyer21
If that info is correct, then you saw a Lockheed P-38 Lightning, one of the first designs by Kelly Johnson. Germans called it der Gabelschwanz-Teufel/Fork-tailed Devil. Charles Lindbergh shot down a couple of Japanese planes while flying one, kept hush-hush because the civilian wasn't supposed to be in a combat zone. The P-38 had the ability to just kind of stop in a vertical position and "hover" momentarily, while an enemy pilot blew by, allowing the Lightning pilot to get immediately on their tail and blast them. Blast them with one 20mm cannon and four .50 BMGs, mounted in the nose for easy aiming. TPTB are pretty damn confident about the F-35, naming it Lightning II. To be fair, the P-38 had a very rocky start as well.

I'd love to see one fly, it was one of my favs as a kid, I'm not even sure I've seen one in person static
sketch
Got to see a show as a kid here in Wa. They flew all kinds of cool shits even shot up some jeeps for a crowd of maybe 500. The Abbotsford (CA) air show does some testing over the north county its pretty impressive to see those jets zip through the sky! Loud as fook!! blue109
P38! That was it. Him and the A10 were playing tag or something. It was really cool. On my way home the F35 came out again so I pulled off the road to watch. I work in an industrial area that pretty much butts up against the west side of the air base where all the runways are so I had front row seats. It did some matrix poop. I still don't know if I saw what I think I saw because it doesn't seem possible. It went straight up and just hung in the air for a few min. Then it slowly backflipped in place a full rotation and a half, and I swear it ended hovering horizontal but the cockpit was down facing me..Belly skyward. I could be wrong, but it was very low and almost right over me and I swear I saw the top of that jet. After a few seconds it rolled over and shot off out of sight. Next thing I see is the F22 and the F86 saber blazing in fast and the F35 swoops up to meet them. I watched them do high speed stuff right on each other's wingtips until I had to get the kids from daycare. I could watch that all day. That F35 is something special though. I sincerely hope the get the bugs worked out and keep it on budget. It's on a whole different playing field.
planeflyer21
/\/\/\/\ I'm wondering how many of the "bugs" and development issues have been disinformation.
