planeflyer21 Posted February 15, 2017 Report Posted February 15, 2017 A video released for public consumption, concerning a LaWS test 2 1/2 years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Xji4_PnvqU
EngrBob Posted February 16, 2017 Report Posted February 16, 2017 (edited) In watching the video the targets looked like the little Iranian boats that have been harassing US ships. Lasers don't leave any evidence, do they? Edited February 16, 2017 by EngrBob

Lasers don't leave any evidence, do they? Actually those are the standard floating targets the US Navy uses. Both the towed one and the boat/drone. The munitions were a nice added touch. How about frying the electronics of Sukhoi SU-24's when they do a flyby? Which they are doing a lot of lately.

Directed energy weapons will fry those out. IMO Trump should lay down the law and, the next time it happens that a SU-24 buzzes a U.S. Navy vessel, CIWS it into oblivion.
98Z5V Posted February 16, 2017 Report Posted February 16, 2017 ^^^ My ALL-TIME FAVORITE weapons system!
