Kyblue82 Posted May 28, 2017 Report Posted May 28, 2017 Alright everyone here is my first build parts list: Aero Precision M5E1 stripped receiver set w/15" Aero mlok rail Aero lpk Hexmag pistol grip Aero .308 carbine buffer kit Magpul ACS-L stock Faxon 18" rifle length medium contour barrel Gamma 762 muzzle device YHM gas block Spikes gas tube Athlon 1-4x24 scope I think that's about it. I tried to keep as many of the main components from the same company. I know compatibility is few and far between when it comes to .308s, so I thought this bring my first build would keep things a little simpler for me. I had a lot of fun researching and buying parts for this thing. And the build itself wasn't near as difficult as I thought it was going to be. I'll let a few people get a good look at the list, then I'd like to get into some technical difficulties that I've been having out of it. Thanks

Kyblue82 Posted May 28, 2017 Author Report Posted May 28, 2017 Ok thanks, I'll look into that. Should I post in this topic the problem I've been having or start a separate one for that?

Kyblue82 Posted May 28, 2017 Author Report Posted May 28, 2017 I went with the nitrided bcg, barrel, blacked out everything, I love that look
unforgiven Posted May 28, 2017 Report Posted May 28, 2017 Very nice brother Aero has some damn good products.
Kyblue82 Posted May 28, 2017 Author Report Posted May 28, 2017 Thanks, I agree. I don't have any prior experience with any parts manufactures but I am very pleased. I feel like they make a very quality product for the price.

Kyblue82 Posted May 28, 2017 Author Report Posted May 28, 2017 Sorry I just saw this after I started a new topic, sorry I'm behind times when it comes to forums and threads and chats, bare with me please.
98Z5V Posted May 28, 2017 Report Posted May 28, 2017 No worries - already replied to your other thread - we'll run it where ever it shows up.
392heminut Posted May 29, 2017 Report Posted May 29, 2017 That's a great looking rifle! I agree with 98 on the Armalite AR-10 buffer system too! Used one in my Matrix build. I have a feeling you'll want to move on to bigger and better things in relation to that 1-4 scope though. These guns can make good use of much higher power scopes easily! The good thing is that if you decide to go to a bigger scope later you can start an AR-15 build for the 1-4 scope! We've had guys start a build because of a lot lesser parts lying around!

Kyblue82 Posted May 30, 2017 Author Report Posted May 30, 2017 Defenitely will be upgrading the optics on this thing! I had never used a variable magnification scope before and wasn't sure how it would be. Nothing against the Athlon, decent for the money, but for sure want to stretch it out some.
