It's not a pissing contest or bashing party first off. If heard every thing there is to hear about it. And I want the truth from guys who know there stuff not you young kids shooting your mouth off. I'm about to let my kids run the gun and I can not have any issues with blowing up in there hands or face. .308 is cheaper and more available for me. Thanks again guys. And yes I understand it's not the best place to ask this question but I got a answer. If the sight was a little Easyer to navigate I would post it the right sections. The whole thing of Nato ( 7.62x51 ) vs 308 ammo is way over blown in modern Firearms , now older rifles & I mean old , their metallurgy is suspect & some 308 ammo now a days is loaded hot compared std 7.62x51 Ball & you should not use 308 in a Nato chambered old rifle .There were a lot of older Rifle converted to 7.62x51 NATO & using commercial 308 may not be up to modern standards . I have shot thousands of rounds of 308 in 7.62x51 chambers in modern rifles & the other way around ,with out any issues & we are talking over forty years of it . The outside dimensions of the ammo are the same , I have never seen a 7.62x51 NATO reloading die set , they are all 308 die sets , that tells you something right there .
