I don't know if I'd go that far based on a few videos....remember every dumbass out there is allowed to play gunsmith with his AR too. There's got to be a few videos floating around to prove it could go either way. They're definitely not as good looking...the silly AR's are far prettier.

ARs are a lot more durable then AK guys like to admit, here is a thread over on full30 on a bunch of torture tests I found  from various places online. Even Rob Ski has a couple torture test videos on AR15s, he seemed fairly impressed by his BCMs reliability.

Every system has pros and cons , the AK is pretty widely known to be more prone to headspace issues, more so than an AR. Also the AR15 is sealed pretty tight compared to an AK so in certain situations such as a mud bath the AR has an advantage (there is a video or two in that link and on full30 of that kind of testing).

Only in some ways, most AK operators commute on camels so it takes a lot more effort to hit a range and actually use the gun. ?

There are a lot of videos on AKs failing. The AKs reliability is overated. Treat your guns decently or they will fail you

Here is that same mud test done on an AR
