Non AR15 5.56 rifles?

Is this something a competent gunsmith could make work? Meaning If I ever decide to buy a .223 boltie is there ways for my smith to modify the rifle to shoot 5.56?

Run a Wylde reamer in the chamber -- guys did this with Mini-14 Targets (.223 Rem chamber) quite frequently. Shouldn't cost much to have a 'smith do the job.

^^^  They're both right on the money.

5.56 NATO chamber has a longer leade, and you can load it to higher pressures (over .223 Rem ammo), with the longer leade.

.223 Wylde chamber is a hybrid between .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO chambers.
