lnxguy
Howdy, I am building a .308 SBR and the bolt catch doesn't have enough width on the part that touches the magazine. The tiny little tang on the bolt catch barely engages the follower in most of the magazines I have. Has anyone ever seen or made a bolt catch with a slightly wider engagement surface to keep that tang more in the center of the magazine well? Maybe its just these crummy PMags? Thanks! shooterrex
Hi. Please drop by the introduction section and tell us a bit about yourself. Start a build thread and list your parts and where you sourced them from. Nothing about this platform is standard. A lot of places sell AR-15 parts as large frame parts and they don't work right all the time. Pics would help us help you. Magpul Mags work in all my guns just fine. Use the Armalite catch for the AR10, it’ll work perfect

This is one of those parts that can be whatever the maker decides, large variety of shapes and sizes to be had. Check out this thread for some examples, if you end up with a catch that's different please add the measurements for it in that thread. Armed Eye Doc
I knew that thread was somewhere but could not find it last night.
lnxguy
Thanks for all the insights on this. I'll see if I can source an Armalite bolt catch and I'll report on whether it makes a difference. After loading up a Lancer Magazine, the rifle passed a function check no problem. This SBR build came out sweet and I'll list all the parts that went into it someday. Just about every part came from a different source and I had to return some of them due to either fitment problems or shipping damage. Armed Eye Doc
You know. It's rude to not post a picture of your rifle.

98Z5V
Watch those AR-10A catches and the AR-10B catches, men - they're different.
