I know, I know. I titled it pics...not pic. I'm kinda stupid that way some times. Anyway, heres a couple of 16" carbines.

The A2 is pretty much a stock Armalite A2.

AAC blackout brake

Harris bipod

Alostyr 2 piece rail from Armalite (lazy mans rail system)

Houge grip

Troy front grip

Since this pic, I've added a JP adjustable gas sight post (to make it suppressor friendly).

The A4 was my first attempt at building an upper assembly.

Armalite Stripped A4 upper

Armalite BCG

Armalite 16" barrel

Standard charging handle (soon to be PRI gas buster)

Troy TRX rail

Troy BUIS

Troy front grip

PRI lo-pro gas block (soon to be an adjustable one)

Standard flash-hider (soon to be another AAC brake....for the can)

Eh...unfortunately, the range that I belong to is only 100 yards at this time. We're trying to get the club to open up the 200 yard range. Some legal, mumbo jumbo, too smart for me, type of issue between the club, county and state. The county that I'm in (Prince George's...ie part hood) is right outside our beloved nations capital. So we take what we can get. I've heard of a 500 yard+ range out at Ft. Meade...but I haven't checked into civilian use yet.

Either way...the SASS is still fun with the can on it...even if it is just 100 yards.

You're honestly not that far from a world class shooting facility, and you can be a part of it, all the way out to 1,000 yards.  Quantico.  For you, it would be worth the drive (definitely NOT during rush hour...).

I was in Prince William Co - Woodbridge, to be exact.  You should look into the Quantico Rod and Gun Club.

Might take you awhile to get in, unless you've got some MIL in your background.  Club composition must be at least 1/3 MIL, and up to 2/3 civilian.  The more MIL that join, the more slots for CIVs that open up.  It's a ratio-thing.
