For right now, know that his work is awesome and very professionally applied. Not only is he exceptional in his work, but he is also VERY affordable. Turnaround time was about 1 week!!!

Local gunshop called Predator Custom in Knoxville, TN.  Good bunch of guys and great work.  Just make sure it's crystal clear exactly what you want.  Prices are reasonable and the rifle's finish is damn near indestructible.

Those guys live to make custom bolt action rifles and they are BIG in Rock Creek barrels AND cerakoting.  It is entirely possible Dave gets his blanks from Predator.  Those blanks come standard with 5R rifling.  That rifling is an option with Krieger.  Not trying to say Rock Creek is better than Krieger, just that that rifling is standard.

I just heard from Liberty Coatings. $55 to coat the stripped lower. I think Ill test them out

that's a good price. i am going to try the duracoat at home on my ar15 build, but that may be someone i use in the future if it works out for you.

yeah for that price Im not considering anything else. The local shops here all use liberty.

I was actually considering of buying all the stuff to Cerakote. We have the perfect oven in the office.

that's the one thing i don't have access to. i am going to order the duracoat from their site in the shake and spray set, and of course a full write up to follow, just waiting on my mega set

Theres a cerakote that cold cures too. I have read it's more durable than Duracoat. Never seen it in person though

i looked at it but it requires quite an investment, where as the duracoat is more reasonable to start. if it fails in the long run, i'll strip it off and go to liberty.

If I like the results I think  Cerakote will have some good applications at my day job. We have a very accurate oven. Im in charge of maintenance. I could very well see the use of a blasting cabinet and the ability to coat some of the machine parts.  ;D
