Box 3522Santa Rosa, CA 95402tel. 707-235-5083I will have a full blown, detailed review about him when my .308 is finished. For right now, know that his work is awesome and very professionally applied. Not only is he exceptional in his work, but he is also VERY affordable. Turnaround time was about 1 week!!!
LocoGringo Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 Local gunshop called Predator Custom in Knoxville, TN. Good bunch of guys and great work. Just make sure it's crystal clear exactly what you want. Prices are reasonable and the rifle's finish is damn near indestructible.

LocoGringo Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 man, i have wanted the PREDATOR M24A3 .338 LAPUA MAGNUM package for a long time, also i think this is who dave branson gets his rock creek blank barrels fromThose guys live to make custom bolt action rifles and they are BIG in Rock Creek barrels AND cerakoting. It is entirely possible Dave gets his blanks from Predator. Those blanks come standard with 5R rifling. That rifling is an option with Krieger. Not trying to say Rock Creek is better than Krieger, just that that rifling is standard.
imschur Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Posted March 27, 2012 I found a place right here in CT that can Cerakote.Liberty Coatings 133 Commerce St.East BerlinCT860.982.0826
imschur Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Posted March 27, 2012 I just heard from Liberty Coatings. $55 to coat the stripped lower. I think Ill test them out
edgecrusher Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 that's a good price. i am going to try the duracoat at home on my ar15 build, but that may be someone i use in the future if it works out for you.
imschur Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Posted March 27, 2012 yeah for that price Im not considering anything else. The local shops here all use liberty.
edgecrusher Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 i just have too many things here to spray magpul fde….. and i am going to get a semi gloss black too.
imschur Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Posted March 27, 2012 I was actually considering of buying all the stuff to Cerakote. We have the perfect oven in the office.
edgecrusher Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 that's the one thing i don't have access to. i am going to order the duracoat from their site in the shake and spray set, and of course a full write up to follow, just waiting on my mega set
imschur Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Posted March 27, 2012 Theres a cerakote that cold cures too. I have read it's more durable than Duracoat. Never seen it in person though
edgecrusher Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 i looked at it but it requires quite an investment, where as the duracoat is more reasonable to start. if it fails in the long run, i'll strip it off and go to liberty.
imschur Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Posted March 27, 2012 If I like the results I think Cerakote will have some good applications at my day job. We have a very accurate oven. Im in charge of maintenance. I could very well see the use of a blasting cabinet and the ability to coat some of the machine parts. ;D
outkastsl Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 <munch>x2. interested in seeing some results!
