edgecrusher Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 Any thoughts?jealousy, lust, and a few others. i plan on following this one close. going to buy a lower on tuesday for an sbr build if i get approved, looking for ideas and inspiration.on your barrel choices, have you given thought to one of the rainier match barrels?
moagm316 Posted April 8, 2012 Author Report Posted April 8, 2012 If I am going SS then I will go Noveske. I am going CHF for barrell life.
98Z5V Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 Why are you hung up on a 10.5" barrel? There is a huge velocity difference in 10.5 up to 11.5 - very big difference. In short guns, velocity means bullet fragmentation range. That's pretty important for defense.
moagm316 Posted August 1, 2012 Author Report Posted August 1, 2012 A smaller package when I put a suppressor on it.
98Z5V Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 If that's the ultimate goal, why not run a 7.5" barrel with pistol gas system, and run the can inside of a 9" or 10" rail?
Robocop1051 Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 Since you have everything but the barrel. It's not to late to consider a 300 Blackout. Especially since you are looking to supress later. Those subsonic 208gr nosler's put out by Hornady will protect your home perfectly. I also like the Noveske N4 barrels more than the Noveske stainless. Bang for buck, I don't think you'll beat the DD barrel.
moagm316 Posted August 1, 2012 Author Report Posted August 1, 2012 Most suppressors aren't warrantied shorter than 10 inches. A 300 bk upper is also in my future.
Jgun Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 Off topic here for a second, anyone know what brand mag that is in the SBR in the picture? The only translucent ones that I've seen are the Lancer's and I've got them. This one loooks different.
98Z5V Posted August 2, 2012 Report Posted August 2, 2012 Black Dog .22LR mag.moagm - check out the Ops Inc M4-S. You can mate that to a 7.5" barrel, and the whole thing is right at 10". No warranty issues with that one. You can also run the Ops Inc 14th, 15th, and 16th Models with the same mounting hardware as the M4-S.
moagm316 Posted August 2, 2012 Author Report Posted August 2, 2012 I was looking into some of the 30cal cans so that I could run it for .300 BK also.
