I always got the impression (based on feedback) that the SCAR was an expensive piece of junk, makes me wonder if we simply needed a more affordable piece of junk, and why?

I don’t have any experience with the scar platform. 
 

I think I’d still prefer an m1a or an fn/fal. 
 

I don’t think I have even shot my AR10 in the last 7-8 years.

All of the jakl uppers have an adjustable gas block, my .300 had one too. For what it’s worth so does my faxon Arak maybe it’s just a piston thing? 

I really like the jakl I build but I bet that 308 is HEAVY! The uppers are built well with a lot of metal

Mildly interested. But not enough to consider getting one. Just interested enough to find out through others whether or not Palmetto gets it right. I've already personally done the whole piston vs. DI comparison thing with my POF P308 pitted against any of my standard AR-10's. The whole piston thing never really did anything for me. I get the whole theory behind it, but it just never really lit me up. Just my opinion.

I knew you had the 300BO JAKL.  I mentioned the AGB because they don't have a buffer to screw up.

Lol hopefully they figured that out. 
 

I was surprised with the 300 I didn’t even have to touch the AGB between super and sub sonic rounds.
