The annual 2-day match is this weekend, i'll update sometime Sunday night when it's all over.  I'm running Squad 4, as always.  10 stages over 2 days, 6 stages tomorrow, the final 4 stages Sunday, and awards ceremony and prize table immediately afterwards.  Gonna be a great weekend, brothers!!!!   :fullauto:

We have heavy winds today, 20 mph sustained, all day.  It's supposed to be 15 mph winds, sustained, all day tomorrow.  The range firing line is set up southwest to northeast, and the winds are coming due East.  That's a half value wind coming from the back right that will be a real wind hold of 7.5 mph...   Gonna be interesting, seeing how this shakes out.  We'll run stages 4~9 tomorrow, then 10, 1~3 on Sunday.

Furthest targets on those stages, followed by how many targets, how many shooting positions, total hits required...

4 = 540 yards / 3 targets / 3 positions / 9 hits

5 = 425 yards / 5 targets / 2 positions / 10 hits

6 = 505 yards / 2 targets / 5 positions / 10 hits

7 = 480 yards / 5 targets / 3 positions / 11 hits (weird firing order, target selection - gotta pay attention to the firing order, per position, or you'll fuk it up)

8 = 425 yards / 3 targets, all animals / 3 positions through a chain link fence / 9 hits

9 = 640 yards / 4 targets / 2 positions / 8 hits - these distances are 640, 550, 505, 420.

You get 20 rounds max, and 90 seconds, to accomplish all this, per stage...  It's a fukcing HOOT!!!

AWESOME WEEKEND!!!   I did well, for me.  Out of 10 stages, I cleaned 6 of them.  Of the 6 stages the first day, I cleaned 4 stages.  Of the 4 remaining stages today, I cleaned 2 of them.  6 clean, out of 10. Most Important Stage of the entire match - YOU HAVE TO CLEAN THE TIMED STAGE!!!  Did that.  Those other 4 stages, though...   FML.  Shooting Open Class (anything goes),  under the Senior and MIL/LE categories.  Out of 98 possible targets, I hit 81 of them, for a 82.65% hit ratio.  That was good enough for 40th out of 82 people that showed up, judged against the Overall standings.  DEEP POOL of talent, with really good shooters out here.

When I shake out the numbers between the Open Class, and then the Seniors, and then the MIL/LE, I didn't do too bad.

Open Class - 50 people, I came in 24th. This is the toughest class.

In MIL/LE, we had 15, and I got 5th - 3 of the top 5 in MIL/LE were from our Squad. We stick together. The last place MIL/LE guy hit 19 out of 98 targets.  I don't even know how this is possible, in this category, but it happened.

In Senior, we again had 15, and I got 5th again.  And again, 3 of the top 5 were from our Squad.  And again, us old fukkers are sticking together.  The last-place Senior guy hit 16 out of 98 targets.  I can completely understand how this CAN happen, because this shiit can hurt, at times.  It's not an Old Man's Game, in the least.

Overall, Badass Weekend.  :thumbup:

Believe it or not, I shot the whole weekend just under 9x power on the scope, on a 4-20 Athlon.  You don't need the magnification - you need the Field Of View...  More than anything else, you need to make sure your gun is truly zero'd, and your DOPE is ON!!!  Lastly, you better know or learn how to read the wind...
