Belt Fed Posted Friday at 09:21 PM Report Posted Friday at 09:21 PM Any of you experiencing this? i have never seen it this dry. we have been under a burn ban for three months. lakes are going dry. the weather guy said we would need 25 inches of rain just to get out of the drought. it's like we have turned into the desert. it's cooled off some but still above normal on temps. duck hunters are gonna be pissed if it don't start raining. there is no swamps or ponds for ducks to come too. The opening week of straight walled deer gun season was near 100 degrees.

MtnMike Posted Saturday at 12:32 AM Report Posted Saturday at 12:32 AM Pretty solid drought in South-central VA. That where I have a lake cabin. We were around 12" low on rain for the year before we got a decent rainfall from the remnants of that last hurricane a week or two ago. Lake is 8' below full pond and was that way the whole summer. A lot of docks are on dry land. A lot of folks are also saying that data centers up river of the lakes are using a lot of water, and a lot more than they said they would. I can't really confirm or rebut. The "data" on data centers is pretty sketchy.
shooterrex Posted Saturday at 01:18 AM Report Posted Saturday at 01:18 AM We got enough rain for a good crop of beans. 1 pond mostly dry. 2 ponds a little low but plenty of water. and 1 small pond that's spring fed. It's full.
Belt Fed Posted Saturday at 08:49 PM Author Report Posted Saturday at 08:49 PM It's so dry i have been putting off mulching leaves for a while now, they are not falling cause of season change, they have been falling from the drought. i knew i was going to eat a ton of dirt. just an example, this mower filter was clean when i started. i had almost that much dirt on me. i blew it off me and the mower when i finished. I also wore a full respirator mask or id be chokin on dirt. had to wipe the lens off several times. i eat enough of it blowing everything off.
