Robocop1051 Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 I just won a handful of these from a local shop. The kid working the counter said they 168gr. ???? <dontknow> ????
Jgun Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 Are you asking about the bullets specifically? Did you load them the in the 300BLK cases yourself? If not, are they marked as 5.56? Any chance that the bullets are moly coated ?
Robocop1051 Posted December 4, 2012 Author Report Posted December 4, 2012 Sorry for the delay guys...It looks like its all Lake City 5.56 brass. He said it was coated with something... and it was supposedly 168gr BTHP Match??? <dontknow>
imschur Posted December 4, 2012 Report Posted December 4, 2012 Well the bullets look like Hornady BTHP Moly.
98Z5V Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 Well the bullets look like Hornady BTHP Moly.Yep, exactly. And that's some new-production Lake City, too. I think you scored, Rob, big time. Do you have a bullet puller? Pull one of the projos and post the pic. That'll tell for sure. I think you nailed some good stuff. If you do pull one, don't spill the powder - weigh the powder charge and see what's up. Sometimes the weight of the charge, when you know the rest of the components, will tell you what powder it is. <thumbsup>
survivalshop Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 I'll take a guess , Lake City brass , 2011 ?
Robocop1051 Posted January 27, 2013 Author Report Posted January 27, 2013 I talked to the guy at the shop. He insisted that it was 168gr match moly coated BTHP... I still have yet to shoot the stuff. And yes, it was loaded in some recently shot Lake City brass.
survivalshop Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Pull a bullet & toss it on a scale , well, maybe not, toss it <laughs>.
rickeyrope Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 Looks like sierra molycoated Matchking 175 gr HPBT or 168 gr HPBT pull one and weight one
Robocop1051 Posted December 17, 2013 Author Report Posted December 17, 2013 I still have those sitting on top of my safe. The guy who reloaded them promised to produce more, and then dried up...
Dane Armory Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 Pull the projo , weigh the powder for us ! Hornady or Sierra 168gr BTHP moly coated are $40 + a box per 100.
