This is my first 308AR Build.  I have plenty of experience with Ar15 builds and shooting Sr25/OBR/M110.  I am hoping to hear some critiques and possible better prices.  Here we go,

Well, my original barrel choice is banned here.  After finding the reason, I've decided maybe a different barrel is in my future.  I'm looking for the best I can get for under $400 or so.  I open to ideas.

Have you checked out Fulton Armory or Rainier Arms yet?

Rainier is out of 18" barrels for under 300. If you want to pay 500 for a Noveske or one of there Ultra Match barrels they are in sock. I ended up just buying a 16" from Rainier for my MaTen build.

Will a Noveske barrel fit Mega Arms upper?  I thought Noveske barrels were AR10 style, while the Mega Arms is DPMS pattered?

Mega will accept either pattern, just be sure you buy a matched bolt.

Check with Dave Branson, right here on our forum.  You'll get it cheaper.  He's a Mega Arms Master Dealer (and he doesn't pimp that fact, never once here - thought I'd do it for him...  <thumbsup>)
