16' Handguards

Hello everyone, I apologize for my ignorance ahead of time as I'm a new owner of a DPMS LR-308.

 

I love my new rifle, and have been becoming very familiar with it. I'm interested in getting a new handguard for it. It has an 18 inch barrel, and I have a low profile gas block on the way. Problem is I can't seem to find any 16 inch handguards that I like. Out of all my searching, I've only found about 2 or 3.

 

I don't necessarily want a quad rail, because I think that's a little bit of overkill, and I'm not going to use all of the rails.

I want a 16 inch because I have an adjustable foregrip that I'd like to place right in the front at an angled position, and then have room towards the front of the barrel for a bipod.

 

I know that magpul handguards will fit on it just fine, actually had one on there and returned it, as I wanted more length. Would any AR-15 free floating handguard fit the DPMS-LR-308?

 

Any help and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and thank you for your time in advance.

You'll have alot more luck searching for 15" varients.  I'm not aware of any mainstream 16" setups out there, but there are quite a few 15s.

I haven't seen any 16" free floats either, but there are 15s

Could anyone recommend a 15 inch that won't break the bank? Don't really wanna spend over 300.00 on it, and even that would be pushing it for me.

troy makes a 15" for ar-15s, but not for 308s

You should call precision reflex. at one time they would cut handguards to a customer's specification. I like these, I had one on a ar15 build it was solid.

Thanks brother I'm just about done with her I'm thinking about battlecomp along with one of Slashes buffers and a sling. Then I'll wait until all this madness goes away and start again

BABC not cheap but damn great product.

I have two BABC's. They're great! One on my .308 and one on my 300Blk.
