Robocop1051
I like the Ruger 17/22 Remington makes a model 700 too, but $$$.
MONTANA308
I have a Ruger m77/17 greatest litte gun ever I carry this little gun everywhere.had it for 10 years now. They have really gone up in price but best 17 HMR made IMO. I'm seriously looking at that new 17 win super mag coming out 3000 fps out of a rimfire that is sweet. Robocop1051
The m77/17, that's the one I was thinking of! I don't know if there is such a thing as a 17/22... I think that was my sleep deprived brain trying to work faster than it can. I have had two m77/22's and I love that rifle. I've debated a m77/17 several times. planeflyer21
How much do you want to spend? MRI makes or made a .17HMR on the 10/22 design, similar to the ones Tom has. My bro-in-law has a Marlin bolt-action .17HMR and it is one fun little cartridge! It shoots mighty flat, so aiming is easy. The downsides are ammo is now expensive and cleaning rods/attachments. Most universal cleaning kits come with .17 gear now. Jon

Microgunner
I shoot it's baby brother, the .17HM2. What a fun little cartridge. You should see what it does to a squirrel's head, and the recoil is so mild you can see the impact through the scope. I own three rifles in .17HM2 and luckily, about 15,000 rounds of Eley for them.
