imschur Posted March 31, 2013 Report Posted March 31, 2013 I want to pin mine myself to avoid shipping it to Washington and back. Im just looking to know how and where the ACS is typically pinned so I do not have to reinvent the wheel.

imschur Posted March 31, 2013 Author Report Posted March 31, 2013 Thanks but you dont have to. I found a picture.
texas30cal Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 Pinned? What do you mean by pinned and why is it done? I am not familiar with the acs.
Robocop1051 Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 Some states forbid collapsing stocks, so to circumvent the law people pin the stocks at their desired length. That way they can have the look of a collapsible stock, when it really acts as a fixed stock. I think the easiest way to do this is to drill a pin into the stock release handle, locking it into place.
texas30cal Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 I guess that is why I have never heard of it, we don't have to do any od that silly poop here! Thank's for the information though.
Robocop1051 Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 Hey Drew. What if you cut a dowel to fit the space inside the stock, behind the buffer tube? Then put a plug at your desired length. Then the stock wouldn't be able to close (because I the dowel), nor would it be able to extend (because of the stopper). Or does that not qualify as "fixed"??
98Z5V Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 I would think that setup, in CT, especially now, would call him a Felon. fornicate them in the neck. :yup: I wouldn't chance it with those shady fuckers.
planeflyer21 Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 It needs to be "permanent" Surely someone around here could guide you through a judicious application of JB Weld. Jon
