survivalshop
All these ammo purchase articles can't be BS . Here's another one from the same people. http://www.infowars.com/homeland-security-to-purchase-141000-rounds-of-sniper-ammo/ http://dailycaller.com/2014/02/12/dhs-to-purchase-75-1-million-rounds-of-ammunition-this-year/ Edited February 13, 2014 by survivalshop
gnatshooter
"The Department of Homeland Security plans to purchase 75.1 million rounds of ammunition at a cost of $22.7 million this year" That's $0.30 cents per round. The government is getting a nice discount.
StainTrain
I appreciate everyone's passion about these ammo purchases, but I have a hard time getting worked up about it. Again, the wonderful thing about the U.S. is that you have a right to worry about whatever you like. These departments doing mass round up and weapon confiscations are very low on my list of things to be concerned. I would rather focus our attention on electing pro-gun candidates into office. If the finest fighting force in the world couldn't successfully confiscate and disarm a population in areas roughly the size of Texas (heck make it the midwest) in a theater of battle, why do we think that a bunch of cops (a large portion of them Veterans themselves) and National Guardsmen are going to be able to successfully do that in a country the size of the United States (a country with a lot more weapons and people with weapons). You guys may be right and certainly reserve the right to say "told you so" if it ever happens.
Robocop1051
Get on Netflix and look up an old TV series called "Jericho"... or even the current show "Revolution" (although the latter is a bit more SciFi). StainTrain
I remember Jericho. I didn't know it was on Netflix. Many thanks. Edited February 13, 2014 by StainTrain
survivalshop
Its not about ammo purchases for training , I have no problem with that . These ammo purchases are going down , one after another & keep going . I have never & I mean never, seen this kind of purchases in such a short time frame . There is no doubt they are ordering this knowing full well that it will impact ammo availability to the general public & in my case components for ammo . They are not purchasing ammo in the tens or hundreds of thousands , but in the millions & doing it yearly for use over a set time period . Even the non conspiracy theorist are taking notice because of the frequency of them . I think every one should start to think about this . Oh yeah, check my thread in the Politics section with several links to the US.Gov bidding site: just (1) of those proposals is for almost 200 MILLION handgun rounds alone. Specifically, the one for .45 which specifies ..."any off-the-shelf" variants of .45? WTH?

planeflyer21
Now you are getting my attention. Any variants of .45? That'd be entertaining to see them stock up on .45 Colt and Scofield, with some .45 Auto Rim thrown in for good measure.

Ya , but they are using our money to do it . If they are buying up any ammo just to deprive us of it , if that's not Criminal , I don't know what is . Of course we are getting used to the Gangsters in the WH.
