Sisco
I am starting to do research on railed free floating handguards for the AR10 A4 flat top rifle. Any thoughts, experiences and preferences?
FAAWrenchBender
What are your needs? Just want free floats? Mount a light? Bipod?
washguy
Sisco Im partial to the trx battlerail, but my last one was an apex....they are sweet, but pricey...light and strong and they lockup to the upper better than the trx.....my apex came with different size rails to install for a nice clean look I always get a one that covers the gas block...thats just my taste either way is fine :) Wash. Sisco
Needs are possible mount for an ACog or Trujicon also possible night vision down the road. Plus a bipod. Like the thought of one that has a partial hand guard underneath instead of straight rail.
FAAWrenchBender
Centurion would be my pick.....there is 12 and 14" length availablehttp://www.riflegear.com/p-2113-centurion-arms-cmr-rail-system-12-inch-762.aspx
mineralman55
Make sure in your selection you get a forearm that is compatible with the height of your receiver. Do you have a "high" or a "low" receiver deck? Second, make sure the forearm will accomodate your gas block if you plan on covering your gas block with the forearm. I picked an Apex 15". It's pricey (although not as much as the Centurion) but I like it.
shibiwan
Bought my TRX used off another forum member here. Works well, and really pleased with it. :)

Just paid the kids college tuition, so it won't be this month.
Sisco
Looking seriously at that TRX Battlerail
EasyEJL
I've got the TRX MRF on mine, its perfect other than no holes line up with my adjustable gas block :P which is mostly the excuse to switch to a Syrac when I have some spare $$ :)
Rsquared
The TRX goes just fine with an AR-10 carbine.
Zebra644
I just picked up a Noveske NSR Keymod for my new AR 15 / M-4 build. its a 15'' rail and weighs in a 11 ounces its rugged and damn light compared to my current Troy free float. I dont know what companies make keymods for the AR-10 platform, but you might want to look into that also. I understand about the college, I just decided to finish up and its expensive. Prozza
I put the MidWest Industries 15" Keymod on mine and it's pretty good and can be had for $200ish. Extra rails are more $ though.
