I would call them .

I emailed them months ago with a question & have not heard back yet . Maybe it was in my spam folder & I routinely delete it , maybe they didn't like my question or didn't want to answer it . It was about there barrel gas port size .

Most places that will sell you a .308AR barrel will be happy to headspace it for you if you send them your bolt. Bison Armory and Rainier both told me to send in the bolt. Call them and ask the particulars.

Fulton automatically does that for you, if you buy the barrel and the bolt at the same time (or the barrel and a whole BCG).  They don't even ask if you want it done - they do it to make sure it leaves, and will function like it should.

That might be why they didn't respond to you - it's something that they already do for customers, and I think it's posted on their website.

What would be the diffeence between the Rainer "ultra match" and fultons? And how do i go about picking the twist rate

And how do i go about picking the twist rate

What projectile weight do you plan on shooting the most?  That will determine twist rate.

Not sure yet, is there a twist rate that is kinda in the middle that can shoot heavier or a bit lighter loads. An inbetween rate for instance .For starters im going to be shooting of the shelf.

Would the Rainer ultra match be better then the FA? I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a barrel jut waiting or a holiday haha

Thats a tough call . I can only speak for the FA Barrels, but many say the Rainer Ultra match shoot well also .

I have one Rainier UltraMatch barrel, but that's Dawn Marie's 300BLK barrel - can't really compare that to the 308 Win stuff for the big ARs, but that bastard shoots the lights out!

Now, My 308 AR is a Fulton 18.5" stainless match barrel - that THAT thing shoots the lights out!

OP, you can't go wrong with either one.  That's the long moral of my story.  Get the one that's in stock when you want to order.  <thumbsup>
