BigP623 Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 First of all I have a 10B. Im getting a little aggravated finding the Armalite proprietary mags for it that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and would like the option of the pmags as well as I love them in the Ar15. My question is I know there are differences in both the upper and the lower, but if I purchased a 10A lower would it work with my existing upper or would that have to be replaced as well?
FaRKle! Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 Both the upper and lower need to be the same pattern. They'll mate to each other, but not feed properly.

There is a market if someone will produce an aftermarket B magazine that is reliable. For some reason Magpul has shied away from it.

Rsquared Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 I don't get it BigP. When you get the 5 packs that Armalite offers, they're only about 30 bucks a piece. That's only about 10 bucks more than a Pmag. And, it's a steel mag. You just gotta build up your mag count over time. I bought them for years before my socialist state just banned the sale of 20 rounders last year. Granted, by the time the ban went through, I had already stockpiled more than enough mags to feed all of my 10's.

Next to Mom, Apple Pie and the Stars and Stripes, what is more American than trying to get a deal on ammo magazines? Even though I love Armalite magazines, and do not understand why people would rather have PMAgs,(although I have them for my 5.56's). It is just second nature to try to find something just as good only cheaper. I just haven't found it yet.
Rsquared Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 I look at it.........like people look at Harley's. If you gotta explain..........then you ain't gonna understand. Can you ever? I've got nothing but 20 rounders.......and they all work just fine.

On the Dissy, some of those things sucked so hard that they are now rust at the bottom of a cattle pond. Wasn't any plastic mags worth mentioning then.

Ran a bunch of those in the Army, no kidding, '95 time frame. We called them "Water Mags" then, and used them whenever we were gonna get wet. Drill the floorplate so they'd drain faster. They didn't hold up to sustained full auto fire very well, so we made sure not to use them for that. They worked for everything else, though. The M4A1 loved them, if you kept it on semi.
