Cali_Ed
Hello guys, so my lee 308 case trimmer is over trimming by alot.like .8-.13. Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong. It's this tool right here. Case length gage says 308http://leeprecision.com/userfiles/images/casetrimmer.jpg Edited October 14, 2014 by Cali_Ed
shibiwan
I use these. They work great. I mount the shellholder in my drill press and it takes only a second to trim each cartridge. Everything ends up the same exact length. These do leave the cartridge length a tiny hair longer (my target length is 2.005") so I fine-tune the case length (shorten only) by gently filing/sanding down the tip of the case length gauge a tiny bit at a time. Cheap to replace too. Edited October 14, 2014 by shibiwan
Cali_Ed
That's my goal as aswell but it over trims. I use my drill
98Z5V
I use this - zero issues. You set the trim length and lock the collar. Everything else comes out the same.
Dane Armory
Time to replace the part. The nipple that fits into the flash hole has worn itself too short . This is not a big deal. $5 part.

Roy
I'll pick one up today, thanks guys. Guy had all this stuff for two years it wearing didn't even cross my mind. The previous owner may have shortened the pin. Is it really trimming 0.8 - 0.13 inches too short?
Cali_Ed
Yes the new one isn't doing that
Roy
Are you sure you had the correct gauge if you were trimming 8/10 of an inch too short? That would have trimmed off all the neck and shoulder. Did you mean 0.008 - 0.013 inches?
