  1. ooooo, man that HK looks sweet even without the silencer,
  2. Glad to have ya. Montana?? Ha yeah I don't blame you for not gettin out to shoot yet. How's the weather up there??
  3. Welllll that would all depend on who's askin n why they're askin... lol Enid ;D
  4. Haha, you think you have your hands full now....I bet you will think you had it pretty easy 12 or so years from now ;D Not that I know anything about that from personal experience though. Keep us in the loop on that upper, I have the lr-308 with the 24" barrel already on it but I would like to make an upper around a custom barrel eventually.
  5. Thanks for joinin in.
  6. wow, I would loooove to see that acog
  7. You DEFINATELY want a free float if at all possible. It makes it so that the only thing touching the barrel is the barrel nut itself. Everything else is supported from the outside of the barrel nut. Some of the other guys would know more about the installation part I'm sure so I'll leave it to them ;D
  8. No kidding, that's about 10 dollars a box cheaper than anywhere else that I have looked!! :o
  9. I agree, it does look awesome. I can't even tell it's not factory and after it is hardcoated I'm sure it will look even better How do you get the specs for machining it? I have a couple friends with access to mills.
  10. I was wondering if you were just gonna be a silent mod too. Sounds like you will have abundance of knowledge to help some of us younger guys out ;D Great to have you. (even if you were just gonna stay quiet :P)
  11. I have the 24" barrel on mine to and yes, the first thing everyone says when I hand it to em is Dang! that's heavy!! I would like to get a match grade barrel eventually and I will for sure get it fluted if I ever do that. As far as accuracy goes, it'll for sure put em out there nicely. My guess would be that the overall gun would outshoot my shooting ability. If I ever get around to getting some pics up I have an old satallite dish that me and some buddies used as a 300+/- target holder, needless to say, I don't think it will pick up a signal very well anymore ;D
  12. This is your 80% lower right?? Where did you get it milled out??

What is everyone using for reload??
  14. The link is no good boss
  15. Any other Oklahomans out there?? Why is everyone bein so quiet?? Cmon, we won't bite (no need, my gun packs a better punch :P ) Oh, and thank you imschur, you have put quite a bit into this and I think it's pretty awesome.
  16. I read a a couple this month that I really liked and subscribed to. Shotgun News is one, it doesn't sound like the type of magazine for 308 black rifle lovers but the name is deceiving. If you can shoot it, they have news on it lol. There are a lot of adds but it also has a section that just anyone can put an add in to sell a gun or what not. Good articles as well, the one I got explains in depth how to pull your trigger and change it out and also how to install a free float tube. The other magazine is The Complete AR Rifleman. Now that is pretty self explanatory. The only problem is that I couldn't get a subscription to it due to the fact that I believe that it was the first issue of it, hopefully in the future that will change though because I would Loooooove to subscribe. It has reviews of every tactical brand you can think of as well as articles from different people with more extreme mods done, hunting stories (hunting wild hogs at night with a silenced DPMS .300 whisper :o ) and just about everything else. You won't be dissapointed with it, except it might give you some dissapointing dreams when you can't have all the goodies too. :'(
  17. yeah yeah, I knew you weren't meaning that but I just couldn't resist a good jab :P Any advice for upgrades after the trigger that I am 98.3% for sure gonna do as soon as I can now?
  18. As far as the ammunition for hunting goes, I used 168gr Winchester extreme ballistic silvertips. I had to have a 4 rounder to hunt too but I was able to find a pretty good deal on one at the gun show when I bought my rifle.
  19. ooooo, would that maybe mean discounts for members maybe???? lol Yeah like I said I was already leaning toward a trigger mod after reading stuff here n a couple other places. I believe I might just have to order a gold as soon as I get my tax money.
  20. I went all out and bought a Pelican case for my DPMS
  21. Just the stock trigger at the moment, that is actually what i was leaning towards getting. The SR Gold looks pretty sweet but it's also kinda steep :-\
  22. I can assure you they are anything but crappy, I have a set of 1" extreme rings holding my leupold scope on my LR-308 and a buddy has a set of them on his 308 Howa and we both like them and have not had any complaints in the 6+ months we have had them.
  23. How are you finishing the work (like the fire control group, trigger pin, hammer pin, trigger slot) on that 80% lower? I would be interested in something like that for future builds in case our dearest politicians are ever able to ban guns :)
  24. Hey everyone, Just wanted to say hi on here, I've been reading from the forums the last couple days and decided it was time to sign up so I can put my own two cents in for everyone else. I have a DPMS LR-308 with the tactical latch charging assembly and the Panther tactical grip with the palm rest. I have a Leupold MK4 3-9X40 military version scope on it and a pod-grip on the front rail. Took down two deer with it this past season and plan on using it for many a season to come. I'm looking around for an upgrade or two to put on it and I was wondering what the best bang for my buck was gonna be, what single piece to put on it to give me the most notable improvement. Thanks in advance for the input. Dustin
