  1. All these ammo purchase articles can't be BS . Here's another one from the same people. http://www.infowars.com/homeland-security-to-purchase-141000-rounds-of-sniper-ammo/ http://dailycaller.com/2014/02/12/dhs-to-purchase-75-1-million-rounds-of-ammunition-this-year/
  2. I ment to say about the same , but I still believe it shouldn't seat on a " No Go" gage, ether one . Unless there is some thing wrong with the chamber The different manufacturers have a little different spec's on what there gages read . I wonder if the below applies to this case, this is off the Clymer web sight, Ya never know what gages these are , his or there's !
  3. Didn't know that with gas block mounted sights , the gas block rail had to match the hand guard rail height or is that just what you want . Rear BUIS sights used to come on two heights , one for mounting on the hand guard rail & one for gas block mount , no ?
  4. What platform ? 308 ? 5.56 ? etc.
  5. Well I had problems as you can see, with accuracy with the 16" rifle the way it was built & there would have been no competition between the two right off the bat @ 100 yrds. . I believe I have corrected the problem as has been described in the earlier posts , the fitment of the two unmatched Receivers was the root of the problem, I changed the BCG out because of the wear on the bolt & I had a new BCG siting around , so in it went also. My goal is this spring/summer , not many long range , ranges down here , so getting to one, has to be set up . Should have 200 yards done shortly , after I get some more reload data on IMR 4064 with the rifles . This rifle shot real well with just the MBUS on her @ 100 yards , but putting a scope on , magnified problems with its grouping potential , so I built a new rifle around the 16"HB.. I have a lot going on now that I'm retired & this is just one of them. <laughs>
  6. All of the them are in this together , the true ruse is the in fighting & phony ,Dem. against the Rep. thing, keeps the populous divided & that is how they want it , divid & concur. The Commie's will have all the votes any way , because how they have played there hand in winning over the hand out game . The new world order is all about control & MONEY. If you want to know the how they won the last elections , just look at your State's , absentee ballet count & compare it with the past elections !
  7. Head space on a 7.62 & .308 should be the same , so gage stamp should not make a difference . Special head space gage ? I would try your gage's in another 308 rifle, just to make sure its not the gages, they can get damaged easier than you think . 98 Thats the first HS gage I have seen with the ejector cut out , cool ! I haven't bought one since the 300BLK & its a Forster, the only ones that were made at the beginning of the 300BLK .
  8. Ah, but its what we live for ( or not ) <laughs>
  9. Famous last words , around here . <thumbsup>
  10. The whole FA thing is probably a feel good kinda thing that just stayed with the AR platform from when it was first needed ( didn't help most of the time ), because of a bunch of misguided decisions by bureaucrats who changed the type of powder & stated that the rifle never needed cleaning . FA was there cure all for there stupidity . There are a lot of people who don't know any better, think they won't work with out one . It's . If it makes one feel good about having one on there , thats OK too
  11. I was in one of the only dry spots around . May be something with the G2S trigger , because I have the SSA in my other DPMS lower & no problems at all .
  12. What brand rifle ? An upper receiver with a brass deflector would take care of the problem , if you choose to replace it . Some 308AR uppers are hard to come by lately. Shooting lefty with a brass catcher , sucks ,in some shooting positions.
  13. They were the first to come up on Google & were just for reference any way , but good to know they suck .
  14. Not saying this guy isn't POS , but the real criminals are in Washington , on this one & they always seem to get a pass go & collect $ 200. Eric Holder is as guilty as Charles Manson was or is .( is that twerp still alive ?) Same thing .
  15. Well said .
  16. None of this changes the fact that our Gov. is buying a $hit load of ammo in the last couple of years & thats a fact no matter how you slice it or dice it . And if you believe any thing that comes out of any one in this administration , as soon as they open there mouth , it smells like A$$. Maybe all you LE's are piss poor shots & need the extra practice <laughs>
  17. Target photo's , I had a few fliers on my part today & breaking in a new rifle with different loadings ,I was more interested in function than groups , although they show potential . I can play around with charge wt. of the IMR 4064 one I remember to take my Chronograph along for the shooting session. All the Barnes Bullets were set to the COL in there Manual , so that can make a difference , my chamber may like a different one, have to do more testing . Even the SMK's with 4064 can use a little tweaking , but I;m confident once this rifle gets a few more rounds through it , I can put it against the 20" to see what happens . I was not to that conclusion a week ago . The fact that I can use PMags is just great. I have to come up with a way or be more vigilant , of the PMags , especially the Gen. 3 , its longer than the Gen. 1 & I keep hitting the bench with it or resting it on the bench & not knowing it . I think its throwing some of my shots off . Brass pile I tested the G2S trigger pull , I had 2# first stage & 1 1/2 # second stage , not whats advertised , but I'll take it <thumbsup>
  18. Geissele said it pertained to DPMS lower's , but I can see there could be an Tolerance Stacking issue when you use two different manufacturers Receivers (upper /lower's) That is probably what has been going on with this rifle the whole time . The early CMMG was designed when a PMag for it was not around , so probably only DPMS mags were used for development & I don't blame CMMG ,because the rifle functioned fine with any steel mag. If you have a fitment problem , its an easy fix & you could always send it to Geissele to have them fit it correctly & just for the price to ship it to them . I personally will never mix uppers & lowers again , I've talked about this before . I had more than one issue with this combo & I got tired of playing with it , I want a functioning system & the CMMG/SI Defense combo just didn't work out & I don't blame ether of them , I blame me ! I wanted a Billet upper for this 308 billet CMMG lower & at the time there were few to none available . This was before the great wind bag King was around.
  19. Very valid points & makes sense . I just didn't like the way he came off with that , blanket statement . I feel better now , thanks <laughs>
  20. Nice job !
  21. Sure. -DPMS Complete Carbine Lower assembly( its not stamped as a receiver only ) -Tactical Machining Forged upper receiver( I believe it is forged ) Had to use there receiver pins , that came with the upper ,DPMS pins would not fit . -Fulton Armory , Krieger Criterion , 16" HB w/ rifle length gas system -Shadow Ops Weaponry ,308, NIB BCG -JP VTAC 12" FF hand guard - Geissele, G2S fire control group -Magpul CTR Carbine stock -Tango Down , pistol grip ( I will put it on tonight) Its sporting & was tested with a std A2 -Smith Enterprises ,Good iron 308 muzzle brake -Nikon , Buckmaster , 6x18x40 scope w/Burris extreem tactical rings - std 308 charging handle ( I have to order a Tac-1 or Rob will tongue lash me ) & its a bitch to get at it now. -some one's low profile , clamp on gas block ? I think that's it .
  22. I like to refer to them as" 308 AR's" or what ever caliber they are loaded for , 260, 338 etc. <thumbsup>
  23. I have option #2 barrel & I like it. I see only one Pistol gas system , isn't that what your looking for . After reading 98's post , seems to be the way to go for a "Can" . Never heard of MAS Defense Barrels . 98 The 150 gr. Speer 's I have loaded for the 300 BLK , shoot very good .
  24. .308 - 7" * for heavy VLD bullets and/or subsonic ammo. - 8" for bullets heavier than 220 gr. - 10" for bullets up to 220 gr. - 12" for bullets up to 170 gr. - 13" * Ratchet rifled 4 groove - 14" * for bullets up to 168gr. - 15" * for bullets up to 150 gr. - 17" * for bullets up to 125 gr. Surely a 1-11.25 will fall in between 1-10 & 1-12
