  1. I'm hope I'm not to dumb & can say , I know what it does , but is there a real need for this ? Are there that many 9mm Pistols having issues with Tight Chambers or what ever . 2. I'm OK with this , as long as it doesn't screw with Firearms or Ammunition here. http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/09/20/trump-bypasses-congress-opens/
  3. Interesting , made in USA ?
  4. I used to use a similar method , until I had issues with some loaded rounds on a new Press . I have case Gages for every rifle Cartridge I load now , its more about safety , it will only take one to screw up a trip to the range . Thats why there are COL spec's for Bullet manufacturers . For any Mag fed rifle , if they don't fit in the Mag , they are too long of COL . That is until you get into something like the 300 BLK , which is still a young wildcat Cartridge , as is the 24-45 Sharps . You have to look around for loaded COL for specific Bullets , from people using them .
  5. How much off are the COL's & how are you measuring them ? My first thought is that there is some play somewhere in the Press . Seating a Bullet is not exerting very much pressure on the Press ram , so it would have to noticeable play to have changes in seating depth , one would think . My old Pacific has a link Pin to there Ram that backs out once in a While & will stop the Ram short if it backs out far enough to restrict the Ram travel , for just an example .
  6. I have several Shimmed type HG's , it may be confusing to some ,the first one you do , but there is no problem with them once you see how its set up , it can be intimidating , thats for sure . The Purple Wrench from ALG ( which you have to buy separately now ) has graduated markings on it & makes setting up the Shims easy .
  7. I used to have a bin full of them that had failed in one way or another ,I would say mostly disconnector failure , but when you see any kind of issue , I replace the whole Trigger system & I used to work on Select fire rifles of all kinds . not just 16"s . I tossed them all out when I moved here , no reason to keep Components around , if you don't trust them . Edit , I was working on them in the 70"s , there may be something to that also. 24K rounds in a weekend, just you & one rifle ?
  8. They are a good looking FCG , look well made , I will be retesting mine next week .
  9. All explained in my first response in this thread . Change & innovation can have growing pains . I'll add competitiveness also.
  10. You can say what you will & he can end up to be a major screw up , but I love the guy for his bluntness , its refreshing
  11. How many Sig's do you own or have owned ? Or Glocks for that matter ? There is no doubt that Glock is a good firearm , no one said it wasn't , but I don't own one because I don't like the way it fits my hand . I have shot many Glocks , 9mm & 45acp , they shot fine , just didn't like the way they felt in my hand , its why I won't purchase one , like a lot of other Pistols . If you read some of these Forums about how this guy or another think Sig sucks & won't own one , you see most are pushing Glocks & how great they are , in a Sig Forum , no less. Just plain Sig hate , like the same you heard about the Springfield XD series Pistols when they first came out , don't hear much now , about how they are junk pistols made in Croatia. They have proven to be great Pistol . This all reminds me of Politics & how the left is pushing the hate for POTUS Trump . Their product didn't win , so its hate the one that did .
  12. Who do you think is going to manufacturer these new Mag's ? Magpul , maybe .
  13. Good read if you haven't already . https://pistol-training.com/articles/trust-no-one-an-insiders-perspective
  14. Got a chance to shoot both Sig's & My S&W Shield again today off my handgun rest & the Sigs were only a little off the Bullseye , which is Ok for me at this time , I need more range time with them . I can tell you one thing , the Triggers on the Sigs are great , when I want back to the M&P Shield , that Trigger sucks big ones , but I just love the new TFO sights on it. I plan on carrying the P320 when it comes back from the Upgrades , so I need a lot of range time with it before hand . They all ate everything I fed them , 115 gr. factory , Hornady 124 gr. +P & both my hand loads of 124 gr. Nosler HP & Magnus 147 gr. HP 's .
  15. I said to myself, self don't buy anymore Bushnell Scopes , that was many years ago , so getting this one on sale for $100 was a gamble , but I like it , seems to be well made & clear glass , made in Korea , so it says , not bad . I have to order some 30 mm rings , not sure which yet , but Scope will go on one of my 5.56 AR's . Weight with scope caps , 1# 15 oz.
  16. I made a slight adjustment to the M&P Shield today at the range , shot from my Pistol rest & this tool is great . I can hit the side of the Barn now
  17. You guys are probably Glock fans If I owned that Rifle , I would document the issue with video & tell them to keep it till its repaired correctly or give me a new one , period . Your being too nice
  18. Yes they do , I have a 16" & a 20" from FA , mine are older , Kreiger /Criterion , but same Chambers . I had a 18" Hybrid Barrel from Criterion & it was the Contour of the Barrel that made it a Hybrid , that & it was a Nitrated ,Stainless Steel Barrel . Its a great Shooter , a friend of mine has the 18" now & loves it .
  19. As I posted above , there are a couple of factors of why on rifle will work with the Gas tube protrusion as in your Rifle , but that spring may also be suspect , one thing at a time . The 308 has a lot of power for cycling , but some rifles will not cycle properly with the Gas tube into the Carrier Key that short , just keep that in mind . I looked at my notes on spring wire diameter & I have 0.71-72" , so if yours is 0.77" & only has 36 coils , it may proprietary in nature .
  20. The Flip Flops wasn't the first thing I noticed , it was the angle of the Stand that made me think the stander wasn't going to be comfortable in that stand for long . Even just sitting & not having to stand up , it will make you fight the angle pointing down like that . We have , as a rule , if you put up a stand , it can angle back slightly , not forward.
  21. Right now there is a lot of Sig hate & they are being looked at with a Microscope for anything & I believe it all has to do with the Military contract . I'm not a fan boy nor do I drink the Koolade of any brand , unless it it is capable of sending Bullets down range . I have far too many brands in my locker to even say I prefer one over the other . Talk about Soft FCG components , just how many factory Milspec Triggers in AR's have failed with low round counts ? Its why you don't see many long term Factory Milspec FCG's in AR's , sure someone will come up with one that has been there for a very long time with out issue , but I can tell you from working on them for almost forty years years that they are far & few that make it that far that are shot a lot . Right now its a feeding frenzy on SIG & as I posted on a thread on a Sig forum on do you still trust Sig , I posted that this is an internet forum & any issues will be brought up & magnified from those who also had an issue & for some reason or another , wasn't taken care of , so now they all suck ! The thing is , as I wrote , the ones you read here or other Forums , just how many are out there , that are working just fine , those are not being posted on forums & if you take into account that for every factory mass produced issue , there will be many many times that many of them working just fine . Let put the P320 drop issue in perspective , 500K or more in circulation & there may be one drop fire, where someone was hurt & thats not been clarified as of yet . Speculate all you want , it hasn't been proven yet . Doesn't stop the Forums or Internet from saying the firearm is not safe , no firearm is safe if miss handled , period . I find all this laughable .
  22. Oh please , the days of hand built Revolvers, Pistols & rifles has long gone , this is nothing new , they are all mass produced & have been for a long time . Cutting corners for cost effectiveness has been going on on all levels of firearms to not only keep up with demand , but for competitiveness , recalls are a fact of life with all forms of manufactured goods now a days , really doesn't matter who made it or where its made , fact of life . If it doesn't work , send it back or sell it to someone who will get it fixed .
  23. The Armalite AR 10 ( 308 ) Mid Length Carbine Gas tube will give you a longer Gas tube for more protrusion into the gas key . Don't think the Carbine system will help , unless that Rifle Buffer Spring is not correct in some way . Ya never know though . The Gas Tube is available from --- https://dsgarms.com/arm10007005 Armalite lengths, Rifle ( 308 ) ----- 15.5 " Mid length Carbine ( 308 )--12 1/16" super SASS Carbine ( 308 )--11" Super SASS< Rife (308 ) ? Mid ,( 223 )------------------ 11 3/4" Carbine ( 223) --------------- 9 3/4 " Rifle ( 223 ) ------------------- 15 3/16" National Match--------------- ?
  24. Mine will be here tomorrow , I still have to order some 30mm rings for it .
  25. Some rifles will work with a shorter protrusion into the Gas Key , some will not . Depends on a couple factors , Carbine Gas length has the best chance to work this way , because of Gas pressure at that length , but that depends on the Gas Port size in the Barrel , so like was said ,its a crap shoot with different manufacturers . Your Protrusion into the Upper Receiver with a Carbine length gas Tube is on the short side , not much in the way of another size to replace it with . Make sure the Port Holes of the Barrel & Gas Block are not restricted in any way . Check Gas Port size in Barrel . Unfortunitly because of a lot of these rifles being built , have many different manufacturers of Components in them & may need longer break in time , tolerance stacking may be effecting some builds . The Gas Block may also be the issue , could be set up wrong for the Gas Tube , hard to say . 0.77" for the Spring diameter seems a little thick , I will have to look at my notes , but I think most are 0.72 " dia.. You say the Bolt Catch will not engage with an empty mag , with out you forcing the Catch ?
